How Do You Talk About Other People............

Yesterday I didn't get around to doing a post I was busy sorting out photos and writing letters to pen pals but I am up early again today and I have thoughts galore running through my head so while I wait for mum to pick me up so we can go and visit nan I am getting started on a post.

Do you ever wonder how people talk about you? Do you think people are always talking about you? Are you sure everyone has an opinion about you?

I have a sister who always seems to think the family are talking about her and that she is often the topic of conversation...............but sorry sis you are not.................lol
Someone once said if you knew how little people talk about you, you wouldn't think people talk little about you............or something like that.................

The point being generally speaking I think most people are more caught up in their own lives that they don't sit around gossiping about other people all the time, it is rare that I talk about my siblings to my husband or children and I don't they talk about me to their other half and children.

Do I talk about my children to my mum yes I do in fact the only person I ever gossip with is my mum and we will talk about my dad and my husband and sometimes my kids and yes sometimes my siblings but guess what we do not go around saying bad or negative things about them. If dad is annoying mum she will have a bitch to me about it and if Tim is pissing me off I will have a bitch to her about him.

Sometimes I will come upon my sisters chatting and will jokingly say “you talking about me” but you know to be honest I don’t really think they are and I really don’t care if they are……………also I do not automatically think if someone is talking about me they are saying bad or negative things about me maybe they are planning a surprise for me or talking about what to get me for my birthday or Christmas why is it that so many people automatically think people are saying bad things about them………maybe they themselves have a habit of talking badly about other people so they think if they do it everyone must do it.

  1. I've heard this saying I like, "What other people say about me is none of my business." Likewise, as I age, I truly try to say nothing or write anything about someone that I wouldn't say in front of them. Makes life a whole lot easier!

  4. I don't think people tend to talk about me but if they do they have pretty boring lives. Nothing is so exciting about my life that it would bear repeating.

I, too, have a friend that always believes people are talking about her. She is so paranoid. Frankly if she is leading a good life what could they possibly be saying that would be bad? I don't get why she worries about what others are saying.

  5. That is the truth - if people around you are talking about others - you can guarantee when they are with others - they will be talking about you too!

  6. When someone talks smack about others and their family, I believe they worry greatly about what others are saying about them. What a terrible way to live, don't you think? :)

  7. People who talk negatively about other people usually do not want anyone looking too closely at them. If you are talking about someone else, then you are not talking about them. I prefer to uplift people, not drag them down. There is already enough of that in this world.

  9. Like Linda, I think it's lovely that you still are still writing letters to penpals! I used to love receiving letters. The older I get, the less I worry if people are talking about me or not. I always try to be kind to people, and to make them feel good, so I would hope they can't say too many negative things about me!¬

  10. Dearest Jo-Anne,
I used to have an American pen pal when high school days; makes me wonder how she is now♡♡♡
Oh, I DO agree with your other friends' coments, my friend. To tell the truth, I really was nagged by my neighborhoods' gossip who would be the guilty part of not having a baby when young. We didn't have air-conditioning 30 years ago so we can hear the talks outside, p;) Well, yes as get older I gain the feeling "who cares!", haha.

Lots of love and hugs from sis-city in Japan, xoxo Miyako*
