Life here last week

Awake at 7am but didn't get up till closer to 7.30am another cold start to the day but not as cold as yesterday. Tasha put warm socks on me.
Blain came down when he got home for food. His mum has borrowed the small TV in Papa's room for Blain to use as his has packed it in she hopes to be able replace it in a few weeks time.
My garbage bins blew over and I didn't realise till I Tasha & Blain pick them up and move them to the carport.

I woke around 5.30 when Tim was going to work but stayed in bed till the alarm went off, another coldish day well coldish f or me but bloody cold for normal people.
Jess has a later start today.
Leo took a tub of custard with him to take his medication with at school, so I rang the school to let them know.
Tasha came down to show me a text from Jono about Blain's christening no he isn't christened but one was planned back in 2006 but didn't happen. Well Jono's grandmother a really nice lady showed him an invitation from back then and he wanted to know what the fuck. Tasha & I talked about that time I cried remembering the time and she will talk to Jono and remind him about that time way back when.
A cold wet day, Tasha was suppose to meet Leo but forgot, lucky Jess was already here and meat him.

Another cold and wet morning, I woke at 4.40am to pee but when I went back to bed I found it difficult to get back to sleep so I just laid there in the quite and dark till the alarm went off.
Tim on a split shift so home for 4hrs today.
This afternoon I went to get Leo at 2.30 but at 2.45 I came home and went back at 3.30 and he was dropped off at 3.40pm. His school finished at 2.20 which is why his driver thought he would be here by 2.40 but Leo and other transport kids had to hang around to 3.20.
Leo is here tonight
Mum wasn't sounding good when I spoke to her she was croaky and in pain with her lower back and shoulder.

I woke at around 5.20 but got up at 5.50am to visit the loo and decided to stay up. Tim got up at 6.30am and left for work at 7.15am.
Another cold but dry morning.
I rode down and posted letters
Been restless all day
Mum sounded much better today.
Not that cold today

Another early day for me awake around 5.30 laid there for a while before getting up to pee turned out to be 5.45 and I decided to stay up.
On Friday I rang the chemist and arranged for Leo's school meds to be made up in a Webster pack. I told Jess about it on Saturday and she forgot and when I mentioned it this morning, she told me it was my fault for not reminding her.
Tasha came down and gave me a shower at lunch time and it felt good to have a nice hot shower.
Leo here tonight.
I m in a lot of pain with my right arm, I can barely use it.

Awake again before the alarm but not by much a cold start to the day.
I am in a lot of pain with my right arm, I can barely move it.
Did a load of washing and hung it out to dry as it was easier then tossing it in the dryer, for me.
The pain is so bad I can't concentrate and have decided to go have a lay down, and use my hand massage machine.
I feel that bad I will go to bed when Leo gets here.

Awake and up at 7am left Tim sleeping, he got up at 8am. Had to call Tasha to help me dress, got dressed in the bathroom with the heater on.
Kathy & Summer came out and Kathy shaved my legs and under my arms. Summer opened my mail that Tim collected from post office box, there was 14 letters, 13 from pen pals and 1 junk mail.
Tasha & Tim picked up shopping for me, Tasha brought down a small homemade pizza for my lunch.
She shown us a photo of Jono's car the front passenger side window exploded on its own, Blain was sitting in the seat when it happened. No one was hurt there was only Jon, Blain & Freya in the car.
When I mentioned it to mum she reminded me of when the same thing happened with one of their cars when I was in my teens. The back window exploded mum said it was very loud, dad thought someone had shot out the window but no it exploded on its own.
The pain is so bad I just want to cry

Rose of Jerchio

I seem to be having a problem with my Monday posts, I keep forgetting to do one, sorry for that.

Today is Tuesday a cold and wet day again, had to get Tasha to take Leo to meet his driver as it has been raining all morning.

Anyway it is plant day and today we looking at the Rose of Jericho this is a type of moss found in the Mexican desert and can stay dried up in a ball for months or years until enough rain falls for it to grow again.

The Rose of Jericho is also a type of tumbleweed, a plant that can dry up, detach from its roots and go rolling around in the wind. Some tumbleweeds just do this as a way of spreading their seeds around but the Rose of Jericho can turn green and start growing again once it finds water.

In fact there are two plants known as the Rose of Jericho or resurrection plants the other grows in Arabia and North Africa and is related to cabbages.

Just another week

Had a shocking night last night around midnight I got up went to pee then came out to the loungeroom and took Saturday nights meds, which I had forgotten to take.
I had a late start it was 8.20 when I got out of bed.
Tim has a late start at work he will leave home around 10.15 and won't get home till around 9pm.
Been an overcast day, cool but not cold.
The new Bluetooth speaker works great, love it.
Had a so so night kept waking up for a short while then falling back asleep. I still got up when the alarm went off, had my morning wash and got dressed.
A wet morning and somewhat cold but I still have a singlet top on and not feeling cold.
This morning not long after his mum dropped him off he realised he had forgotten his phone and later he realised he had forgotten his blue hoodie jacket. Thankfully his mum agreed to take his stuff to the school for him.

Been wet all day but not that cold, Tasha was suppose to meet Leo this afternoon but waited too long to go meet him but Brian dropped him off anyway.

Felt a bit restless this afternoon not sure why.

Still cold and wet but suppose to be fine and sunny, we will see.
I woke at 5.50am to pee so I stayed up anyway. Even though it is cold I am still in a singlet top.
Leo left on time but moments later he ran down the driveway past me yelling he had forgot his phone, he ran inside and got it he then ran back to his driver.
Rang the doctor surgery they said he would ring me sometime today as I need a script for pain relief patch, he rang at 3.30pm and Tash or someone will need to pick up the script.
Leo here for the night

When I was turning my alarm off this morning Kathy rang me she said I had rung her so she was ringing me back. I don't know how I did that.
Everyone got up at the same time this morning, Leo likes to be awake when Papa leaves for work doesn't matter if it is as early as 4am, he needs to say goodbye and give Papa a hug.
Rode down and posted off 7 letters, I received 7 letters myself yesterday.
Had to borrow another book as I finished the one I was listening to. I get through 1 or 2 a week.
Jess downloaded some podcasts she thinks I would like to my phone, so I will see how that goes.

Up with the alarm as usual suppose to be coldish and wet but it is fine at 6.30am.
Jess arrived around 7am and left at 7.30 as she only has 3 students this morning.
At midday the hospital rang and asked if I could go over early, so we did. There was no problem having Tim with me as I was on the scooter. I was in and out pretty quick.
She (Dr) wants me to have an ultrasound to check my bladder. She also wants me to see a physio to get exercises to strengthen my pelvic floor which is shot and some bladder retraining.
I also have to see another Dr for some other tests. I will make phone calls tomorrow. I also need to get a script filled and take some tablets.
Had Macca's for lunch haven't had that in months.
Spoke to mum she had a bad night last night with restlessness, she relies on medication to get to sleep which is ok for someone her age, I guess.
Leo here tonight.

A bloody cold morning, got up with the alarm and got dressed in the bathroom with the heater on. Suppose to be a cold, wet day but we will see, I was able to go with Leo to meet his driver and bloody hell it was cold out there waiting.
Tim has gone to the chemist today as he is off. He was surprised at how much it cost, the script the gynaecologist wrote will cost me $80 so I will get it next week.
Jess here to help me get ready for bed, as Tasha drove Blain to his dad, he will be back on Sunday.
Very cold when I was waiting for Leo this afternoon.

Slept in till 8am after a restless night, had all the girls and grandchildren except Blain were here. It was great having them all here. We had pizza for lunch.
Threw a load of washing on when I got up and Tim said to toss them in dryer, which I did.
Leo got his school photos yesterday and hates them says he looks dopey or high but everyone has school photos they don't like. I know I did.
Been a cold day all day although I have been hot and cold on and off all day.

Plant Tuesday

Hello bloggers, how is everyone this cool, sunny May day well that's what it is like here in Newie. The book I was for my creature day info has now moved onto plants and such so today I will feature the Bristlecone Pine.

Way back in time like before the great pyramids of Egypt when ancient people were still working on Stonehenge a little tree started growing in the White Mountains of California, USA and it could still be alive today as it was a bristlecone pine the world's longest living tree.

Trees often die when insects or fungi start to eat away at them, but bristlecones have very thick, hard wood that's full of oily, strong smelling chemicals. This makes it hard for wood munching insects and fungi to get in.

You might think for a tree to survive so long it would need to live somewhere warm and sheltered with lots of lovely soil but you would be wrong. The most ancient bristlecone pines live 3000 metres or 10,000 ft up in the mountains in a cold, windy, dry desert like area.

They don't grow in proper soil, it's more like pebbly gravel, but this has advantages as the bristlecone has little competition from other plants, few animals eat them and few humans chop them down.

More facts you may or maynot know

What a cold and wet morning here in Newie, normally when it's wet I don't go with Leo up to meet his driver because not good to use the scooter in wet weather. However, this morning Tasha was busy so I had to go with him.

This morning not long after his mum dropped him off he realised he had forgotten his phone and later he realised he had forgotten his blue hoodie jacket. Thankfully his mum agreed to take his stuff to the school for him.

Anyway here is this weeks facts.

The name “Jeep” is believed to have come from the abbreviation used in the army for the General Purpose vehicle, G P

The biggest tree in the world is a Giant Sequoia in California 83metres tall and 25 metres round.

Ambulances were developed by Napoleon's surgeon in his Italian campaign of 1796-97.

Actor Keanu Reeves first name means “cool breeze over the mountains” in the Hawaiian language

The Italian flag was designed by Napoleon Bonaparte.

Diary Week 20 aka My Life

Awake and up at 7am, Tim was already up and helped me get dressed.
Tim gave me a Flawless Razor for my face to replace the one lost at Christmas.
Well this morning Tasha mentioned that hers is also purple I said I didn't know she had one, she said I gave it to her for Christmas, no I didn't. Hence the missing gift, found.
Kathy and the girls came over she didn't have a gift for me, she said she had no idea what to get me.
Jess & Leo turned up not long after Kathy they gave me a handmade card and a nice long jacket.
Leo and the girls had fun playing together as children do.
All in all had a good day

Up with the alarm as usual, dressed myself and yet again I couldn't use the Wii so annoying.
Jess dropped Leo off at around 7am.
Took Leo up to meet his driver who didn't turn up, Tasha rang him and he said that someone sent him a text saying Leo wasn't going. I am somewhat pissed off, Tasha drove Leo to school.
Short chat to Mum as Sandra arrived 25 minutes into our chat.
Leo was dropped off by his driver this afternoon and he said sorry about this morning which made me happy.

Up and dressed with the alarm, in front of a heater, yes I do have a small 2 bar one in the bedroom. I also have a small fan heater in the loungeroom.
Jess dropped off Leo at 6.45am.
Been a good day answered some letters and cleaned the bath and loo.
Rang mum she was good she said she Jeannie went to see her with Sam and Lilly she was pleased to see them.

A new day, rose with the alarm as per usual dressed myself and after some struggle and tears of frustration I managed to get my socks on.
After Leo left I went down and posted off letters that took like 3 minutes.
Tasha asked me if I could help her get something out from under her bed. I had to lay flat on the floor to get the box out but I did it.
Jess rang to let me know that Leo has an appointment with Dr Murray on Friday and that it will be a phone appointment.

I got up with the alarm as I do each morning before I got dressed Leo arrived he told me he walked here because his mum broke down, like I believed that.....he was dropped at the top of the driveway.
Around 1ish it pissed down rain and continued for most of the afternoon. Around the same time I started to feel off with a headache and a tight chest, I also feel very tired.
Tim home at 1.45pm an early day for him so he went up to meet Leo this afternoon.
I am going to bed at 4ish I am just that worn out.

Another cold morning, had a restless night but still dragged myself out of bed at 6.15 when the alarm went off. Leo helped me get my socks and pants on.
Jess arrived around 9ish and has been annoying since she is hungry and because she is in work van she cannot go to Macca's.
Leo is having the day off school as he has a doctors appointment with Dr Murray thankfully it is a phone appointment.
The appointment went well she talked to Leo & Jess the whole time.
Mum was good, Dave asked her if she wanted to go over to his place as Dawson has gone to a mates place for a couple of nights.
Dawson is concerned about her being alone, however, because of the cold wet weather she didn't want to leave her nice warm house.

Slept in this morning, I woke at 7.20 but laid there cuddle up to Tim till 7.50 when we both got up.
I had to have toast for breakfast as no banana bread, followed by a bowl of grapes.
Cold and wet morning.
I had a moment before lunch as I was shaking so bloody much and it was getting to me.
Had all the girls here for lunch we had KFC and it was great we all sat around the table and laughed and chatted while we ate.
Kathy & family gave me a Bluetooth speaker I will try it out when I go to bed.
Short chat to mum this afternoon as Tasha turned up to give me a shower.

Humans

Hello everyone on this nice sunny Tuesday, this will be the last creature day for a bit till I find another book to consult, this weeks creature is us, humans.

The other creatures all had some level of indestructibility about them some would say humans have none, as we don't like extreme temperatures and we can't regrow body parts.

We can survive anywhere including the bottom of the sea or the South Pole and even outer space, this is because we have brains and hands that allow us to invent all kinds of protective survival enhancing, life saving inventions from the house we live in with mod cons and medicine to keep us well and even space suits.

We are so good at surviving that we have used up a lot of the Earth's natural resources and damaged it in many ways. Some feel we are headed to a big end others feel that we will find new ways to use technology to help the species to survive.

The earliest fossils of anatomically modern humans are from the Middle Paleolithic, about 200,000 years ago such as the Omo remains of Ethiopia, the fossils of Herto sometimes classified as Homo sapiens idaltu also from Ethiopia.

Almost 99% of the mass of the human body is made up of six elements: oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, and phosphorus. Only about 0.85% is composed of another five elements: potassium, sulfur, sodium, chlorine, and magnesium.

Human babies are thus born when their brains are less than 30 percent of adult brain size so that they can fit through the narrow passageway. They then continue development outside of the womb, with brain size nearly doubling in the first year

Did you know maybe you do

Hello Monday, how is everyone?
Me, I am well ok I have a tight chest and feel worn out but I am hanging in there.
Here are today's random facts..................

The cone shape dunce's cap, once used in the classroom, originates from a paper cone that was placed on the heads of accused witches during t he middle ages

A man can spend up to 106 days of their lives shaving

The human tongue tastes bitter things with the taste buds at the back, salty things in the middle of the tongue and sweet stuff at the tip of the tongue.

If you put a raisin in a class of champagne it will float to the top and sinking to the bottom when the champagne is flat.

The expression “tit for tat” come from “dit vor dat” meaning “this fir that” in Dutch.

My last week

I had a little sleep in getting up at 7.15, it is another cold morning.
Tim at work, he had an early start so he will be home early.
Been a ok day didn't do much, didn't even answer any letters just watched some telly and read some blogs.

Up at 6.15 with the alarm, Jess & Leo arrived around 7.15am as she didn't need to drive to West Wallsend.

Bloody cold this morning, Tim had an early start so will be home around 2pm.
It has warmed up a bit but still cold outside.

Rang the school to find out what time gets out, they said 2.20pm every day till otherwise stated.

Spoke to mum she told me she had a stumble on Sunday night around 6ish she didn't fall she managed to catch herself by grabbing the entertainment unit. She was shaken and wanted to ring me but decided against it.

Up with the alarm as per usual, it is cold definitely time for warm pants and heaters although I don't have a room heater, just a small bar heater for the bedroom and a small fan heater for the lounge room.

Tim off today he had an appointment at the hospital with the ENT specialist, only to find when he got over there that they had changed it to a video appointment. However, because he was there he was seen anyway. The doctor, is continuing with his treatment but increased the dosage.

This afternoon Tim rode the scooter up to get Leo at 2.20 but no Leo turned up, so he rang the school and even though school gets out at 2.20, because Leo is in a special ed class he still has to wait till 3.20 to get picked up by his driver. Talk about annoying.
Mum forward me the letter Leigh wrote to the DoH about Mum staying in the house she has been in since May 1980.

Up and dressed with the alarm, I let Leo sleep till 7.30am he got up and ready straight away.
Another cool to warmish day, I cleaned out two drawers in the kitchen as well a load of washing and naturally I had to unpack the dishwasher and I am the main person to vacuum the lounge.

Tim home early from work at 2pm, he looked at the old microwave and found a blown fuse.
Mum not feeling great, runny nose, cough and headache.

Tasha told me she has agree to let a friend stay at her place for a couple of weeks, this is ok with me she can do what she likes.

Up and dressed with the alarm as was Tim, Leo arrived at 6.50am Jess didn't come in she just dropped Leo off and left.

I am annoyed as I couldn't get the Wii Fit remote to work.
I rode down and posted some letters.
Mum was upset when I spoke as both Sandy & Dave had been yelling at her about her idea to use the medication she has in the drawer and not get the Webster pack till they where finished. They don't want her to do that.
Spoke to Kathy she was good no longer sick and the girls are both good.

Up and dressed with the alarm, Leo helped me get my feet through my pants legs as my feet get caught.

A warmish day, Tim home at 9am for a few hours, he has a split shift.
Jess is going to help me get ready for bed as Tasha is taking Blain to his dad's where he is staying till the 20th.

I didn't get to say goodbye to Blain before he left for his dads.
Jess arrived here at 3.20 just as I was going to get Leo, so we both went to meet him.

Up at 8am, it was nice to have a sleep in, Tim was up already. Tasha came down early and helped me get dressed.

Last night Jess forgot turn on the camera and close the back doors, much to Tim's annoyance.

Kathy & the girls came over for a visit and it was great to see them.

Went with Tim over to Mum's it was fantastic seeing Mum we hugged and I kissed her check and yes we are not suppose to do that but we did and what's done is done, so there.
Tasha coming down to give me a good scrub down in the shower, I am looking forward to that, I don't have enough strength to give myself a good scrub.

Wanted takeaway for lunch but the shops where to crowded so I said not to bother.
I have been in a foul mood since.

Tuesday, 5 May 2020

Hi everyone it is Tuesday here and Tuesday is creature day and today's creature is the Rat yeah thay very annoying little creature which can be found every bloody where.

They are smallish, furry mammals with four legs and whiskers and a pretty much near impossible to get rid of. If you see one it is usually either a brown or black rat as these two species have set up home all over the world (except at the poles) living in both countryside and towns/cities.

They do so well because they are incredibly adaptable, they can change lifestyle to suit whatever food is available and in fact they eat almost everything from leftovers to vomit.

The can jump, climb and swim allowing them to escape from danger, people often try and poison them but over time they become immune to the poison. They will increase in size and number because people dump more food waste which is a feast for rats.

Brown rats live for about 2yrs and black ones only 1yr, they are between 12 and 46cms in length depending on the species.

They can transmit disease if they bite or scratch humans and also by leaving their droppings and urine around the home. Humans can also get sick when rats contaminate their food or run across counter tops where food is later prepared

Monday's Facts

Good morning world, life here is good still not going out but I do leave the house to take Leo up to meet his driver and again in the afternoon to meet the car when he is dropped off. I also take rubbish out to the bin.

It started out cold but is warming up, I am in long pants and a tee shirt, now some facts for this Monday.

More than 100 descendants of Johann Sebastian Bach have been cathedral organists

According to tests done at the Institute for the study of animal problems in Washington DC, dogs & cats like humans are either right or left handed meaning they have one paw they prefer to use over the other.

If you eat too many carrots you may turn orange

Americans can eat as much as 200 pounds of peanuts in their lifetime.........bloody hell

Rubber used to be used in the making of bubble gum............what the hell

In old England when customers in a pub got unruly the landlord would tell them to mind their pints and quarts and settle down. Hence the phrase “to mind your P's & Q's.

My Week

Awake at 6 and up at 7am, Tim helped me get dressed before leaving for work.
Jess brought over Leo and groceries from Woolies she is leaving groceries and taking Leo home with her. She is also going to the chemist to get my meds for me and Tasha will get them from her tomorrow.
Tash also went and fetched groceries for me from Coles.
I had another chocking episode and then I dropped the plate and smashed it, Tash came and cleaned it up.
Spoke to mum somehow she ended up talking about the day dad died, which had us both crying.
I am exhausted this afternoon.

Awake at 6am, up after the alarm went off, got dressed in the bathroom so not to disturb Tim only to have him up 10 minutes later.
A wet morning woke to the sound of rain, which was nice.
A wet day, here so Tim took the car to work.
I set fire to the baking paper when I went cook my pie for lunch but no drama removed the tray and it went out.

Seems like a long day, I am exhausted and it's only 3pm.

Up with the alarm as was Tim, he helped me get dressed, it is so much easier and painless when I have someone helping me.
Rode down to post my letters
Not much to do today, no more letters to answer.

Up and dressed at 6.15, Jess and Leo arrived at 7am. The pants I was wearing were very baggy so I changed from the size 22 I had on into a size 16 pair a better fit. I have gone from a 20-22 down to a 16-18.
Leo has gone back to school and was happy to be going.
I went to the podiatrist she said I little to no muscle strength in my feet, which is why I am always stumbling.
I went to post some letters Jess's van was parked at Tasha's so I thought she would get Leo, however, as I was coming down the road I saw the van leave and stopped to speak to Tasha and find out if she had Leo.
She didn't, she had to nip home as there was someone there to pick up another work van that was stored at her place.
Leo said he had a so so day.

Up and dressed at 6.05am, did my morning exercise before Leo arrived . Started raining so Tasha had to walk Leo up to meet his driver.
It has been raining all day, Tasha made beef stroganoff which I choked on it but it was nice.
Been a long day ass day, its dragging on and its so dark.
Tasha will have to get Leo this afternoon as it is still raining.
Mum has been offered a 3bd house in Mahogany Cres, Gateshead, she will look at it tomorrow.

I woke with the alarm, got up and dressed in longish pants as it is bloody cold. Wore my warm pink dressing gown when I took Leo up the driveway.
Tim found the dead rat that was stinking up the lounge room and tossed it in the bush/creek behind the house, it was under my arm chair.
Mum told me she spoke to the Dept of Housing and asked if she paid the extra bedroom tax could she stay where she is and was told to put it in writing and take it into the office on Monday. I am concerned she will need to have it in writing that she is allowed to stay, I am worried in a couple of months they will be telling her she still need to move because her application to remain wasn't granted.

No alarm today just woke up at 6.45 am, got up dressed and ready for the day.
After talking to Tim I decided to ring Sandy and have a chat about Mum. I explained my concerns to her and stressed about Mum getting written permission to stay in the house she is in. Sandy said because of how sick she is she is unable to go with Mum anywhere and she thinks Dave or Leigh will go to the Dept of Housing for Mum.
I then rang and spoke to Dave, who seems to think they are going to hold the house she has been offered till a decision about her staying where she is, is made. Some how I doubt that.

Dave sent Tim a couple of photos of the camper-van he & Leigh bought and then they talked on the phone.

I went down and posted my letters on the scooter.
Tim shortened all Tasha pants as well as a pair of Jessica's by mistake, he was worried Jess would be mad but Tasha rang her and explained and even though she annoyed she saw the funny side and was ok.

Tim also hung all the laundry out on the line and of course got it off the line, he didn't fold it but can't have everything.
Tim got Jason (neighbour's son) to cut the back lawn.
I rang Mum she was home alone as Dawson had gone to a mates place for the night.
