JUST ANOTHER WEEK

Kathy took me to have blood tests done both my normal 6mth check and the tests for the neurologist

However, one of the tests the neurologist wants isn't covered by Medicare and costs around $250, so I said not to bother with that one.

Kathy had to second Covid test as she made the mistake of mentioning that she was sick of sneezing to her boss. She has hayfever.

23-10-21

Woke at 5am, had a wash and called Tasha, however, the door was locked this meant I had to walk out naked to unlock it but found I couldn't and had to wake Tim to open the door. Leo must be here.

Read some blogs, answered some letters and watched 6 episodes of ANZAC BATTLEFIELDS. I am right into both world wars I find them interesting.

24-10-21

Woke at 4.50am and had to get Tim to help me get out of bed as I had cramps in my calves.

First day of school since June.

Having a reasonable day being able to stand and sit pretty ok.

Started doing the calendars for next year, thankfully I saved the work as I went along because Chrome shut down on me before I finished. So I will attempt to finish it tomorrow.

Tasha came down to settle me down to listen to my book at 2pm as she has been doing for a long time now. However, I said I have to meet Leo but she said she will meet him in the afternoon as she knows how worn out I get by 2pm. I just want to lay down and listen to a book for a while, say 3 or 4 hours.

25-10-21

Awake and up at 4.30 needing to pee, I laid there thinking how long has it been since I last peed answer 14.5hrs. No bloody wonder I needed to go.

Had a phone call from the pathology people telling me on Saturday they didn't take enough blood. So I had to go down and have more taken.

At midday I had another call from the pathology one of the vials taken this morning broke and they needed more blood. This time they came to me and the lady told me in future I should ask the doctor to request a home visit.

26-10-21

A new day and also second jab day, Tim is taking me.

I thought Tasha was going to shower me but no she will do it this afternoon.

Had my second jab no drama, although Tim was in mood because he didn't really want to take me, standing with his arms folded.

Discovered that Leo didn't take his meds, I rang Jess and told her in case the school rings.

27-10-21

A new day is here, I slept well enough. In pain with my knees and right arm not the arm, I had the jab in, also a lot of back pain.

Hot enough for the A/C today starting to feel like summer is around the corner.

I have been very restless all day, unable to sit for more then a few minutes.

Sue's birthday.

28-10-21

Another hot day on the way 30 degrees again, so maybe another A/C day.

Ordered something for Daemon & Freya for Christmas.

So much to sort out and me with daily struggles.

POEM DAY

My Love

Megan Hagen©

Published: August 2016

How do I describe
My love for you?
How can I explain
That this is true?

Love is a funny thing
We'll never understand,
But hear this truth ring:
I'm in love with you.

These butterflies,
Shy smiles,
Late nights.
Thoughts are constantly
About you.

I can't tell you
All the times
This heart beats faster,
Even when you're out of view.

Always in my thoughts,
Always in my dreams.
A life without you would
Tear me apart at the seams.

It's you who keeps me up all night
And gets me through the day.
It seems to me that there
Is only one thing left to say.

I've said it already,
But to make sure you know it's true,
I'll say how I feel:
I'm completely in love with you.

CREATURE DAY

Hello world, hello Tuesday, hows life treating you all, good I hope.

This weeks extreme creature is the Saltwater Crocodile, heard of it, of course you have. Often referred to as Saltie.

There is no bigger reptile in the world, males can grow as long as seven metres, females only grow to half that. Their jaws are strong enough to crush a cow's skull, in fact it is among the strongest of any creature.

They have a lifespan of 70yrs.

JUST ANOTHER WEEK, MORE OR LESS

Slept in this morning till 5.45 when Kathy texted to say she was leaving.

Dad's birthday he would be 79 today.

Sandy came and took me to see Dad there were 4 out of 5 children there, Jeannie didn't come but she lives the furthest away like a 30-40 minute drive. We all hung around for an hour, it was great getting together.

Found out this afternoon our neighbour who is just called Mrs G passed away today.

16-10-21

Sunday here and what a start to the day I have had, first I was crying because I felt I was becoming too much for Tasha. I could tell she didn't really want to come and help me. She feels Tim is home so why can't he get up and help me. Reason is it is too early for him.

At 8.40 I had to go and have a lay down as I felt a headache coming on, an hour later I felt ok.

Had a restless day.

17-10-21

Slept in to 5.15, Tasha coming down at 8.30 to shower me and get me dressed for appointment in Sydney.

We are leaving at 11.30am, Tim is taking the scooter and the wheelchair. I wanted to take the wheelchair and he wants to take the scooter.

He also said we will take the car through the car wash before we leave.

18-10-21

Slept late didn't wake till Kathy rang at 6.25, got up and rang Tasha she was busy and would be here in half an hour. I was in tears when she arrived. I have been crying a lot this morning.

Saw the specialist and she also said I have a functional tremor and need to accept that. She also wants me to have some tests done at Westmead Hospital and some blood tests and go back in 4 months.

I am depressed, crying a lot today.

19-10-21

Another late start it was 5.30 when I woke up. Tasha was already ere.

Jess drove me to my podiatry appointment.

Have had a decent enough day,no tears.

20-10-21

Woke up with a stiff right arm,it is slowly improving.

A warm day, I am coping so so.

Although I do not know how I will cope next week and the weeks there after as Leo will be back at school. Leo helps me a lot during the day.

21-10-21

Woke stretched needed to pee got up saw it was 4.30 decided to stay up.

When I woke up I could here talking leaving my bedroom I could tell it was coming from Leo's room. I knocked and entered after no reply to find him asleep and the computer going which is where the talking is coming from. I do not touch his computer.

Today is the last day of home schooling I expect Leo will be in two minds about going back to school.

POEM DAY

Goodbye, Granddad

Sarah Harrison©  More By Sarah Harrison

Published: September 2009

Heaven has received another angel,
The night sky another star.
Your life has become a loving memory.
I know you will never be far.

I know you are watching over me
As my life goes on.
I will treasure the memories I have of you.
I can't believe you're gone.

You were a loving, caring granddad.
You were there for me a lot.
You will always hold a place in my heart,
A loving, treasured spot.

You were really one in a million,
A cut above the rest.
All who knew you would agree.
You simply were the best.

So, Granddad, I will say goodbye.
I love and miss you with all my heart,
But as long as I have my loving memories,
We will never be too far apart.

Hi, my name is Sarah. I am 24 years old, and I lost my granddad on July 26, 2007, to cancer. Growing up, I wasn't really as close to my granddad as I was to my Nan, but over the last few years I did get really close to him. He only found out he had cancer about 10 weeks before he went, and my Nan spent the last 4 weeks of his life looking after him because she wouldn't allow him to go in hospice because he wouldn't have wanted to. The cancer robbed him of his pride and dignity then eventually his life. He just seemed to give up when he was fitted with a colostomy bag. He told me the day before he went that he was ready. I believe I am truly blessed to have had him in my family.

MORE FACTS

Good morning world, going to be a long ass day for me as I have my appointment with the specialist in Sydney today. Well it is facts day so here we go.

YESTERDAY'S POST TODAY BECAUSE WITH ONE THING OR ANOTHER I FORGOT YESTERDAY

Awake and up at 5.10am, Kathy arrived at 5.50am and showered me.

Jess came over at 7am with Freya in order to feed her breakfast. After a bit Freya became less timid.

It was nice seeing all three girls playing together.

This afternoon Tasha was in a mood saying that her dad should be putting me to bed on a Saturday night, however, her tone was disrespectful and Tim's reaction was just as bad he got very angry. Is it any wonder I feel like a burden at times.

9-10-21

Sunday here and going to be another hot one, Tasha was ok this morning, Tim was till I tried to talk to him about h ow angry he got last night and it set him off again.

A bloody hot day, had to turn the A/C on.

I also managed to do the medications on my own, as Tasha was super busy.

10-10-21

Another early sour tart awake and up at 4.20am, Tasha here at 5.10am. I was washed dressed and in the kitchen starting breakfast.

A cold and wet day due to the weather our free to air TV is out

but I can watch recorded shows.

Butt poo poo butt pee pee

11-10-21

I was up a bit later this morning getting up at 4.50am, Tim up at 6am. He won't be home to 7.45 tonight. Still cold and wet.

Jess rang at 10.00 to ask me to tell Leo that the school had rang to say their internet was down and for him to do paper work he had. I told him and what he did I do not know.

Scanned and cropped some old photos so I can use them when I do the new calendar.

12-10-21

Had a restless night, waking often till 4.30 when I at last got up.

Still wet but not cold.

Jess got her second jab.

She also picked up a handmade doll her friend Cassie did for Kathy it was made to order.

Tim saw the GP he has a fatty liver which he has had for years but he acted like this is new news I guess he forgot about it.

Now he wants me to find out what can be done for it.

13-10-21

Awake and up at 4.30am, when I rang Tasha she didn't answer, turned out she was already here.

Sandra's 44th birthday, sent her a text at 5.30 wishing her a happy birthday.

Leo didn't want to take his meds so I said ok I'm not going to argue with you, your Mum can d o that. He goes to his room only to come back a few minutes later and take it.

Around midday Leo comes out and said he is going home, I asked about school and he mumbled something and left. I rang Jess an hour later to ask if he was ok she said he was and that school was frustrating him so he was done for the day.

When he came it was for the night as it is Thursday.Awake and up at 4.30am, when I rang Tasha she didn't answer, turned out she was already here.

Had a shocking start to the day, I wasn't able to make it to the toilet and pull stuff down and sit before I wet myself so needed a good wash including my legs.

Had a voicemail from the specialist in Sydney saying I need a negative Covid test in order to have appointment.

Told Tim that after he has the Covid test we have to stay home till we get the results. This he didn't like.

Blain has gone to his dad's for another week.

A POEM TODAY, YESTERDAY THE INTERNET WAS BEING A BITCH SO THERE WAS NO POST

Somewhere I Have Never Travelled, Gladly Beyond

E.E. CummingsBy  More E.E. Cummings

somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond
any experience, your eyes have their silence:
in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,
or which i cannot touch because they are too near

your slightest look easily will unclose me
though i have closed myself as fingers,
you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens
(touching skilfully,mysteriously)her first rose

or if your wish be to close me,i and
my life will shut very beautifully, suddenly,
as when the heart of this flower imagines
the snow carefully everywhere descending;

nothing which we are to perceive in this world equals
the power of your intense fragility:whose texture
compels me with the colour of its countries,
rendering death and forever with each breathing

(i do not know what it is about you that closes
and opens;only something in me understands
the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses)
nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands

FACTS

Good morning world a cool and wet morning here in Newie and it is of course Monday so it is facts day.......

On average people speak about 5,000 words every day

In 1810 a German named Samuel Soemmering invented the bubble telegraph to send long distance messages. His invention used electricity passed through wires to make pockets of gas bubble in a tank of acid. He had 26 different wires sitting in acid, one for each letter of the alphabet. If he sent a small current of electricity down any of the wires, a stream of bubbles would appear in the acid at the other end, enabling him to send messages one letter at a time.

Sound travels through water three times faster than through air.

The Honey Badger can withstand hundreds of African Bee stings an would kill any other animal.

During most of the Earth's history, the North and South Poles have been completely free of ice.

FIRST WEEK OF TERM 4

I managed to sleep in to 5.25am just after I got up Kathy sent me a text saying she was on her way. It was good having help with getting my breaky. I am now showered and ready for the day.

Sandy came and took me to see Mum & Dad, haven't been to the cemetery in months.

2-10-21

Woke up looked at my phone it said 4.14am had to pee so got up and noticed the lounge room clock said 3.14. I thought what the hell, checked my phone again then realised daylight savings had started.

Tim removed the filing cabinet and replaced it with the new drawers.

3-10-21

Had a good night awake and up at 4.30am again, I ring Tasha around 5am after I have had my wash and applied my body & face cream.

Going to be a hot day.

So hot I had trouble each time I went to the toilet.

Also turning the air con on in bedroom when I retire to my room.

4-10-21

Had to get out of bed last night 3hrs after retiring as I had forgotten to take my meds.

This morning I was up at 4.40am.

Tim saw the Dr this morning who sent him for a ultrasound of his abdominal area. Also a couple of Xrays.

I had a phone appointment with the Dr for a script and he is sending me for my 6mth blood tests.

5-10-21

First day of term 4 Leo is happy as he was over having nothing much to do.

I had my first Covid jab, Jess came with me, all went well. As I was struggling to walk and stand I was given a wheelchair and taken to a separate area, jumping the queue.

No side effects as yet.

6-10-21

Had a good nights sleep awake and up at 4.30am again. Still no side effects from the vac.

The arm I got the injection in is hurting a bit more then normal, I rang Tasha to rub deep heat into it but she wasn't able to, so I rang Jess who didn't answer her phone. So I got an ice pack and sat with that on my arm. It helped a bit.

I am really tired.

7-10-21

Friday again, cool day ahead. I slept well and was up at 4.40am.

Still no side effects from the vac as yet. Although I started to have pain again in my arm Tasha came and rubbed ice gel into it.

Saw Kelli and the kids this afternoon she said they have another 6 weeks to find a place.

Memory Album

John P. Read©  More By John P. Read

Published: November 9, 2019

Memories are life's special moments
Borrowed from the passing of time.
Ghosts and shadows from bygone days,
Etched and stored inside our mind.

Our minds are a memory album
Where the past and present meet,
Memories we lovingly cling to
That make the heart skip a beat.

Some we would like to forget.
Some we love to treasure.
Some memories become precious gifts
That live on forever and ever.

Yes, memories are precious moments,
And I have quite a few,
The memories I treasure the most
Are those I made with you

Good morning all here we are at another extreme creatures post and today it is the Coconut Crab.

This crab is bloody big at 40cm's in length and up to 4 kilos in weight. They can live up to 60 years.

It gets its name from the coconuts it likes to eat, using claws to strip away the outside of the coconut and then break it open.

It is also strong enough to break your arm.

It is the largest land crab in Australia.

ANOTHER WEEK DONE AND A DAY LATE

No thorough wash this morning as Kathy is coming to shower me.

While eating breakfast Tasha rang and while chatting and eating a piece of croissant got stuck and I started to choke, so Tash came running by the time she got her I had managed to dislodge it but had gunk down my shirt.

Kathy showered me and did some ironing.

While eating some cheese and crackers for lunch I again had food get stuck resulting in coughing so much I wet myself and had to get Tasha to help as I was home alone.

25-9-21

I woke at 4.10 with a leg cramp so I got up went to pee returned to bed but wasn't able to go back to sleep so at 4.25 I got up. I was shaking a bloody lot. Rang Tasha at 4.55, she arrived at 5.10am.

Leo came down at 8am to give me a hug and say goodbye to Papa as he left for work. He didn't go home but went to his room and back to bed.

Jess turned up at 1.30 looking for Leo, he was in his room asleep still.

He came and asked me if he has school tomorrow told him no still another week off.

26-9-21

Awake at 4.20 again shaking from head to foot so I got up. Tim up at 5.15 he is doing day work for a change.

On the weekend Tim picked up from Mum's a set of 5 plastic drawers that I wanted and today I started to transfer stuff from the small 2 drawer filing cabinet into it making it easier to find stuff. A big job for me who can only stand for a few mins at a time.

Tasha booked my appointment for the Covid jab, 6-10-21 at 8.15am.

27-9-21

Tim had an early start he was up at 4am and gone by 4.30,which is when I got up.

Feeling good this morning really with it.

Managed to finish emptying the filing cabinet now just have to wait to the weekend for Tim to move it out and the new drawers into place.

28-9-21

A late start as it was 5.20 when I woke up. Tasha was already here and starting my breakfast.

Tim got up and left for work shortly afterwards.

At around 11am I had another mini melt down this time as a blabbering idiot I recorded a message and posted it to the family chat and the Meadows chat.

This resulted in both Sandy & Sue turning up to check on me and both Jess and Kelli came to check on me. This made me feel good getting hugs from everyone, made me feel good and happy. They all stayed an hour and a half.

Tim arrived home during all this and was glad that so many came to check on me.

29-9-21

A new day and hopefully a better one. Another early start for Tim.

A very warm day sweating from head to foot, so bad I have to walk from the bathroom to the bedroom with my knickers and shorts around my knees in order to stand in front of a fan so I can dry of enough to pull them up. This is so upsetting and stressful for me.

Don't think Leo will be here tonight as he went to Kelli's yesterday.

I have felt ok today.

30-9-21

Awake at 3.25 to pee but wasn't able to settle back down each time I started to doze off I would be awaken by a kookaburra so I got up at 4.25am.

David rang me to talk about me getting the Covid Vac, Leigh was with him and said I need to talk to my GP before I get it. I have an appointment on Tuesday to do that.

Tim had to cancel his appointment for his jab as he got stuck at work.
