Love

Love is not a Rubik’s cube. You can’t manipulate it into position. You can’t outwit it. You can’t really hope to understand it. Yet it’s the thing that gives life the most depth and meaning. It is what we should celebrate most and reach for as much as we can.

Sharing the love around, doesn’t mean there's less to offer each person or for you to get. Our capacity to give and receive love is limitless.

Does this sound right to everyone? 

Sometimes it amazes me that my children have at time acted like because I am give one daughter a lot of attention then I am taking something away from them, if a daughter is in need of more of my attention than their sisters at any given time then I will give them what I feel they need.

Now all my girls are mothers but they each only have one child and I think when they have more children they will start to truly understand how a parent can love more than one child the same. Now I will not say that I do not have a stronger connection with daughter more than the others but that doesn’t mean I love that daughter more than her sisters.

Hubby has a stronger connection with two of our daughters then I do so I guess it all good well it is in my opinion.

I am also lucky that I am able to say that after 28yrs together I am still in love with my husband and do not like to think of life without him. Yes I will often complain and bitch about him but I’m allowed to because I love him…………………….

Family Dog

    If you can start the day without caffeine.

    If you can get going without pep pills.

    If you can always be cheerful; ignoring aches and pains.

    If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles.

    If you can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it.

    If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time.

    If you can overlook it when those you love take it out on you when through no fault of yours;                 something goes wrong.

    If you can take criticism and blame without resentment.

    If you can ignore a friends limited education and never correct him.

    If you can resist treating a rich friend better than a poor friend.

    If you can face the world without lies and deceit.

    If you can conquer tension without medical help.

    If you can relax without liquor.

    If you can sleep without the aid of drugs.

    .....Then you are probably the family dog!

More about the photos

Hi all I have decided that instead of repling to each comment about my last post I would write a new post and tell you a little more and answer  the question that Diane asked me about who is in the photos...............

Well the first one of course is of my parents who have been married for 50yrs my mum is 71yrs old and looks really good and my dad is 69 in October and I think they both look really good and nothing like some people who are the same age do............this is a photo of my mum at her 70th and my Aunty Pat at her 70th maybe it is just me but I think my mum looks better then Aunty Pat.

The others in the photos are my brother David, my sister Jeannie in the purple top who is 6yrs younger then me next to me is my sister Sue who is 7yrs younger then me then next to her is our baby sister Sandra who is 15yrs younger then me and of course David is the baby of the family he is 16yrs younger then me..............so yeah I am the oldest at 48.

It is good to know I am not the only one who doesn't like how they look in photos but I guess it is only to be expected as we are our own biggest critic. I do like the one of me and mum together I think it is the best one with me in it and I can only hope that when I am her age I look as good.


Everyone who has seen the one of my parents think it is just so great you can tell they are still in love after 50yrs together...............

Today I went and picked up these photos which we had done a couple of weeks ago. I think they look good I love the one of mum & dad looking at each other, the look on dad’s face is one of love for the woman he has been with for over 50 years.

I personally do not think I look that good but I rarely do not like the way I look in photos…………………

Yes I know my friends and family will say I look good  but I do not see it…………………….....

Annoying Words

What is something that your children say/do that annoys you the most?

For me it's a couple of things one is when they say the words "I'm so hungry" this really annoys me as if there is no food in the house when what they really meant was that there was nothing in the house they wanted to eat. What they wanted was for me to go out and buy them Macca’s or KFC and I had said NO find something in the house to eat. Usually after a lot of complaining and moaning they would pick something in the house to eat.  I use to say to them that they had no idea what being really hungry was as there was always food in the house to eat, now they are all mothers they get it and two now have children old enough to complain about being “so hungry” when all they really want is ice cream or lollies……………lol

 The other thing they would say that really bothered me was that we were “poor”  these girls had no idea what poor was they had a roof over their heads, clothes on their backs food in their tummies  along with material possessions such as  televisions and vcr’s  in their rooms. Ok they never head video game consuls such PlayStations but so what.

The final thing that they have said that really upsets me is that they “hate me” ok when they were little I got it that they didn’t really understand how hurtful those words are to a parent and even though I was upset I didn’t take it to personally as they were young. However when those words are said to you by your 25yr old daughter then it does hurt a hell of a lot and she doesn’t get why it hurt and why I find it harder to move on and get over it…………………………

Things A Wise Woman Has Told Me part 1

A very wise women once told me that the word “HATE” is a very strong word to use and to say ' dislike' instead because “HATE” you can't get over and with “dislike” there is room for improvement…………

This is something I think when I am tempted to say I hate something or someone…………………

The woman in question is my mother this is just one of the many wise things she has taught me and it is something I think more of us should strive to remember and live by maybe there would be less fighting between individuals………………………………….

I can honestly say I have never said I hate any of my children although I have said at times that I have hated the way they have been acting at times. When they have said they have hated me I know how hurt I get even though I know deep inside they do not mean it, I also know that my daughters have mistaken what I have said thinking I have told them that I hate them and when I have replied that no I said I hated how they were acting they will come back “same thing”. Well not the same thing in my opinion although now they are mothers themselves they are starting to see things a bit differently.

So what does other people think is “hate” to strong a word…………………………….

Girls or Boys

If you had to pick, would you have only all boys, or only all girls for kids?

For me this was a simple I always wanted daughters and oddly enough so did my husband and we had three daughters. Now how would we have felt if we had a boy the answer just fine it wouldn't have bothered us and we would have loved a son just as much as we love our daughters. What we wanted most was to have a healthy child and that is what we got three healthy beautiful daughters.

We now have two grandsons and one granddaughter who we love just more then words can say, do I have any regrets not having a son...........no not at all.

How about the rest of my blog pals did any of you have a prevance or where you just happy to have a healthy child or just a child healthy or with special needs.......

Internet Drop Out and Television

I hope I get to post this as the last couple of days my internet keeps dropping out and today this is the first time I have had a chance to get here because of the constent drop outs............Anyway since I have not been able to blog I have spent the time doing housework and answering some snail mail........

At the moment I am watching Jerry Springer and why do I watch this show the same reason I think anyone watches it for the fights...............nothing as entertaining as a good punch up on telly............

So what type of shows do my blog pals like to watch, me most of the time I like crime shows and prefer British crime shows over American and Australian that doesn't mean I do not watch shows from America and Australia I just happen to think Midsomer Murders and Wire in the Blood are two great shows and I love Murdoch Mysteries which is set in Canada.
