Here in Australia it's tax time hubby did his tax return a couple of weeks back and daughter number 1 had my dad (her pop)do hers for this year and last year, yeah she didn't but it in last year I don't know why she just didn't she said it was because dad(her pop)was unwell and she didn't want to ask him......yeah lame excuse there are tax agents around........

Anyway I came across this one on one of my bigblog pals blog and thought I would pinch I mean borrow it for here:

At first I thought this was funny......

Then I realized the awful truth of it.

Be sure to read all the way to the end!

Tax his land,

Tax his bed,

Tax the table

At which he's fed.

Tax his work,

Tax his pay,

He works for peanuts

Anyway!

Tax his cow,

Tax his goat,

Tax his pants,

Tax his coat.

Tax his tobacco,

Tax his drink,

Tax him if he

Tries to think..

Tax his car,

Tax his fuel,

Find other ways

To tax his ass.

Tax all he has

Then let him know

That you won't be done

Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers;

Then tax him some more,

Tax him till

He's good and sore.

Then tax his coffin,

Tax his grave,

Tax the sod in

Which he's laid.

When he's gone,

Do not relax,

Its time to apply

The inheritance tax.

Accounts Receivable Tax

Airline surcharge tax

Airline Fuel Tax

Airport Maintenance Tax

Building Permit Tax

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, our nation was one of the most prosperous in the world.. We had absolutely no national debt, had a large middle class, and Mum stayed home to raise the kids.

What in the "Hell" happened? Can you spell politicians?

We've had just over 100 years of labor and 60 years of Liberal

GO AHEAD - - - be an Australian !!!!!!!!!!

So,who are we voting for in the next election.

  3. I didn't write the comment correctly.

What I meant to say is tax is necessary for growth and infrastructure Jo Anne and without it we wouldn't have road, schools or public facilities to use, nor would our poor or elderly be taken care of.

I don't mind paying it - but I just wish, here in the states, that people were taxed fairly.

Hope that came across right. :)

  4. Oh, yes it is SO complicating and frustrating procedure.....
Well, my hubby used to work as a bank clerk. When he retired last year, he WAS busy for all the formalities and dealt with for our surviving!!!
Our government has pretty low support rate now_(._.)_
Who will be our next prime minister; whoever he is, wish the change for the better.

  5. Joanne........I think it is that same in most countries taxes is part of life.

    Skippy

Yeah I know taxes are part of life this was no a real serious post and I didn't mean to to upset anyone or make anyone think that I do not think taxes are important as they are but Australians do pay one of the highest rates of tax in the world........

  7. It is amazing all the taxes we pay and the government still have a nerve to complain that they dont' have enough money... I bet if they all gave a quarter each out of their wages we'd be rich.

  8. Hi Jo-Anne. Yes, of course we have to pay taxes for certain things, like health, education, transport etc. etc., but quite often the money doesn't end up where it should do. That's an awful lot of tax. I get really cross that our pensions are taxed. We were taxed when we were earning the money, and we're taxed at the other end when we need the money to live on! We just can't win.

    Thisime

It is stiff when you get taxed on your pension I think it is just so wrong......but as you said it does happen.....

    Jamie

I think most people know what it is like to have to pay taxes it is part of life.

    Barb

Taxes are a part of life whether we like it or not and some countries have more taxes and higher tax rates then others.

  12. In Texas our tax time is April. I agree with what you shared today. Taxes will even be with us in death.

  13. that fits the US as well. there are a lot of good things that we pay taxes for; some things that are taxed just because they can be. not all people are taxed fairly here and it hurts badly when the little guy gets squeezed so badly.

there's a lot of areas where things could be corrected but i am not sure that will happen in my lifetime.

Yeah that is what gets to me it is the ones who earn the less that are hit hardest by all the taxes.......
