Creature Wednesday/Hognose Snake

Here I am on a hot Wednesday afternoon at last doing a creature Wednesday post and today's creature is the Hognose Snake, have you heard of this snake?

In fact the name Hognose snake is a common name for several snake species with upturned snouts. They can be found in the United States and northern Mexico, as well as in Madagascar and South America.

When faced with an attack, these snakes rear up and spread out its neck like a deadly cobra and hiss. However, it doesn't really have a dangerous bite but it hopes this will scare off a predator . If that doesn't work it rolls onto its back, opens its mouth as wide as it can and hangs out its tongue, trying to look dead. Sometimes it will even do a poo to make itself smell bad, many predators find this disgusting and leave.

However, when it is playing dead it can be flipped over and it will quickly roll upside down again even though this reveals that it is still alive, oops........
