Aussie Slang

Here we are at another Wednesday and of course it is slang day so here are this weeks slang words.


Bail......To cancel plans


Bogan.....Someone one other countries might call a redneck or someone who is acting weird


Cactus.....Dead or broken


Chrissie....Christmas


Dag.......Someone who's a bit of a nerd or geek

  1. Well, I knew bail. That is very common here, too.
    Dag is a short nickname for my son Dagan--and he is a bit of a nerd or geek--LOL! But never knew it meant that in slang.

  2. I still use all those words every day language, except for bail. Dag is being a bit cute about someone; bogan is being less cute about someone.

  3. We live in the City of Logan, it adjoins the City of Brisbane. We have a lot of Logan Bogans in the area too.

    1. I don't know why but Logan is often associated with bogans as is the suburb of Windale here in Newie
