Indestructible Stuff----------------Gold

Well here we are at another indestructible stuff day and today it is Gold something every man and his dog has heard of.

Gold is quite rare and that's because it is very heavy, when the earth was forming most of the gold sank down towards the middle of the planet pulled by gravity.

Gold isn't as indestructible as many other metals, it's quite soft and melts easy. However, it has another indestructible quality it's very pure and unreactive.

It rarely reacts with other metals or chemicals and that means it doesn't rust, dissolve or wear out.

Gold coins can and have been recovered intact from ancient shipwreck, gold jewellery will last a life time as gold nuggets can lie in the soil or on a riverbed for centuries.

This is why gold has been used as money for centuries.

Gold has had its magic power to attract people over the ages.
Indeed, its ancient coins still exist.
