Saturday and what a great Saturday at that

Ok I have no idea where this post will go I am just going to type about anything that comes to mind and as everyone knows that is nothing new………………lol

I just had a hot bath after which I shaved my legs and underarms, yes I did it after the bath I used my battery operated shaver. Now here is a question for you ladies who read my rambling thoughts do you shave, wax or use hair removal creams? In summer I am more likely to shave with a razor and shaving gel in the bathroom but in winter I use the battery operated shaver ok with my underarms I always use the battery shaver why? Well because I have a terrible habit of cutting my underarms if I use a razor and shaving gel and yes I have tried the creams but don’t really like the smell of them. The battery shaver doesn’t give as close a shave as the razor but it is ok for me and my legs look shaved not hairy which is what is most important to me how they look more then how they feel…….

Today I had Kathy-Lee, Jessica and Leo over for a baked lunch I invited Natasha & Blain but she said Blain has been in a lot of trouble at school during the last week so she wasn’t bringing him here as she felt he was too naughty.  Anyway while I was cooking lunch I had a thought while you are cooking do you stay in the kitchen making sure nothing gets burnt including yourself or do you do other things and just keep checking on the food cooking.  That was what I was doing this morning while I was cooking the veggies I was also blogging, I was trying to make sure nothing burnt and I do ok no food burnt but I did manage to burn my finger with the steam from the electric frypan when I lifted the lid off…………lunch was great it tasted great the girls said the loved it we had roast beef with baked veggies and peas & corn and Tim had spinach which he loves and grows himself.
Kathy left not long after lunch she had to get home and do some laundry but Jessica stayed and washed my car and cleaned out the inside and vacuumed it out, it looks great now after she did my car she cleaned out her car and vacuumed it out as well………Tim gave her $25 for doing the car……..

Before starting lunch today I did a load of washing and pegged it on the line, but after lunch I had to do another load as during lunch Leo knocked over a drink and it went all over the table including onto his mother’s plate of food lucky we had more food in the kitchen which she could have but it meant that I had to do another load of washing as I the table cloth was all wet, yes I use a table cloth I know many people thing such things are old fashion and can’t see the point but I am not one of them I like my table covered with a table cloth.

Speaking of table clothes I get annoyed that most of the reasonable priced ones are pvc the type you just wipe over and that isn’t what I like I prefer a cloth one that can be removed and thrown into the washing machine.

So now it is getting time to think about tea but honestly I have no idea what to have as I don’t feel like making anything…………

  1. I started off with creams but really hated the smell, even after a bath I could still smell it. So I went for a shaver and ended up like a cactus as the hairs were so thick! Now I'm waxing which I like but the hair has to be a certain length and with them reducing in thickness I'm going to have to consider creams again. Personally I'd love to come into some money and get laser treatment done. Would you consider it?

As for table clothes, I think the suit some tables and not others but my mum and sister use one, it also stops the table getting damaged.

    1. Waxing for me would be to painful and I have a low pain threshold......lol

My mum only uses a table cloth for family lunchs and on Christmas Day.......although when I was a child she used one all the time, at every meal

  2. One of the benefits of reaching menopause (for me anyway) was that one morning I woke up and found I had no hair anywhere on my body except for a very thin layer on top of my head (and I do mean VERY thin which is NOT a benefit let me assure you). So in answer to your question.....I don't have to bother.
In the kitchen...I am a pop in and out type of cook....cooking bores me. I love eating though.
I use tablecloths when I have company and place mats when it's just us.

  3. Your meal sounds so good. I love the touch of the cloth tablecloths- I think it just lends an air of elegance. Good that you got a clean car and your daughter got some money, too!

Oh, and I think it's awesome you all grow your own spinach. I love spinach!

  4. Seems you are having a good weekend so far.
Baked dinner is so easy. I prefer to not stay in the kitchen whilst it's cooking, I keep an eye on the clock and turn the potatoes only once in the oven. Boiling the veggies doesn't take long, some only just less than 10 minutes. Some things I make of course require me staying in the kitchen.
Tablecloths, prefer place mats, only use tablecloths on Christmas Day, shame really as I do have heaps of them.

    Be well!!!

  6. That was nice that hubby gave your daughter some money for making such a good job of cleaning your car. I do love a nice clean car, inside and out. I usually stay in the kitchen when cooking, because if I start chatting or leave the food, I usually forget it! LOL! I like the idea of a nice tablecloth. Not old fashioned at all. Loved your ramblings - as always !

    1. Yes I thought it was good of him to agree to pay her she is a single mother and trying to get by on a pension. When I am at mums and we are having a baked lunch me and mum chat so much that if we are not careful we will forget about the food......

  7. i prefer a cloth cover if you're going to use one they're at least charming to classy depending on the pattern. i find they vinyl ones tacky. i actually like my table bare cause it's old and i LOVE the actual oak. the patterns in the wood are lovely. i do use placemats (cloth) to protect the table from the food.
here in america we drink tea, though being fromthe south its sweet iced tea with lemon, but there is no tea "time".it's merely whenever we're thirsty. there arent any traditional "breaks" in our days other than the 3 meals. i actually stay in the kitchen but we have an open floor plan so the kitchen and living room are one BIG room. i find it funny that you pay your grown kids to do chores!lolol it wouldn't occur to me or my family to do that. they'd give me money if i needed it but not for my manual labor. blood, sweat, laughter, and tears that's what family IS! :)

    1. Yes I also think the vinyl ones are tacky, when I say "tea time" I am talking about dinner here in Australia we call dinner "tea"..........

Jessica is a single mother trying to get by on a pension which is not much so she likes to do small jobs to earn extra money she doesn't like to just take money, if she takes the money without doing a job she feels like it is a loan and she should pay it back.

  9. Dearest Jo-Ann,
What a considerate person your husband is, other person may take it for granted the job your daughter did♡♡♡
Oh, the tablecloth thing! How wonderful you make your table graceful by putting tablecloth. My hubby always mess up the table and it is impossible to have it. Haha, I will have to wash it every day or chage it each time, p;)
Love you always from sis-city in Japan, xoxo Miyako*

  11. OK First - shaving... I use both a blade razor and an electric razor. Neither are used when I am bathing, but after. Second - table cloth. I use them now but only because I have a damaged table and I don't want to replace it right now. Cover it up and no one will know... that's my view and I am sticking to it. :)
