GIANTS OF THE PAST

Well here is this weeks giant of the past and it is the good old Tassie Tiger.

The Tasmanian Tiger was the world's largest known meat-eating marsupial.

The last Tassie Tiger died in a Hobart zoo in 1936.

There are those who believe they still exist, if they do they are bloody good at hiding.

  2. Interesting creature they were. Don't believe they still are about but one often hears of someone seeing one, but as you say they are good at hiding if there are any.

  3. What an interesting creature. I can imagine there still are a few species on the planet--or more likely in the oceans--we haven't yet discovered. Better that they should hide from we humans!

  4. I'd thought I'd heard something about one being found recently... then again, I am getting old...

  5. That's interesting! Until now, I had not heard of them at all. I think I will look up even more info about them.

  6. It makes me sad to think of animals becoming extinct, but this one is mighty scary looking.
