Guess who is 3 now............and a little about my dad's health

Well the weather has cooled down not sure for how long but I am enjoying this cooler days while they last. Yesterday we went over to Kathy's place for Sydney-May's 3rd birthday they had a BBQ, Kathy was a little pissed off that some of the people she invited didn't bother to RSVP or even turn up. To make matters worse it was raining and wet so she had to change the party from the park to her place, I told her all the important people where there such as me and papa, her sisters, 3 cousins and their children. Sydney-May loved having Blain & Leo there to play with the other 2 children are just babies so no fun to play with.

When it came time to open her presents Sydney-May was very excited about each present and loved everything, she hasn't got her presents from her mum & Mickey yet they will give them to her tomorrow which is her actual birthday.

My mum & dad didn't turn up but mum rang and told Kathy that poppy wasn't well with wheezing it was the second attack dad had in a short period of time the first was when he was straightening the mat under his chair the second was when he was helping mum move a pot plant and not a heavy pot plant. He started to cough and then wheeze and then he collapsed and mum had to try and get him up and inside, he managed to get himself onto a seat and then my brother arrived and he helped mum get dad inside and into bed for a rest.

Mum worries about dad a lot his memory isn't all that great and is getting worse and he is convinced he will get cancer again whenever he doesn't feel well he starts to think the cancer has returned. It is really hard for mum she worries but there is very little she can do to help him not worry. As for the problems with his memory she doesn't know what to do he knows he has a problem but at the same time doesn't want to admit there is a problem, if you can understand what I mean.

The next birthday in the family will be Tim's birthday next Saturday, Australia Day he will be 52 I have invited the girls over for lunch before he goes to work I have asked them to be here around 11am.

  2. The party looks like it was great fun, despite those who didn't bother to RSVP or show up. I hope your dad is on the mend, and that memory thing is a hard thing for older people to deal with. It's good he's got so many who love him so much surrounding him.

  7. I'm sorry your dad isn't well, but the birthday girl sure was cute. It's really pretty irritating when people don't respond to invitations, but you were right -- the important people were there.

    Love,
    Janie

Thanks so much for all of your wonderful comments on my blog Life & Lemons! I just wanted to let you know that you are a no-reply blogger, and I can't reply back to you via e-mail. I would love to be able to keep our conversations going. (Especially right now about how the school year in Australia works - I love that it is year round!) Here is an amazing post to help you make the switch to a non-no-reply blogger if you wish to do so :D

  10. I am glad you got to have a wonderful day. It happens that sometimes the perfect day doesn't go as planned but the important part is all the people who were there and called to wish that beautiful little one a happy birthday. :-)
