I have a new look, what does everyone think of it……………..or
are you looking at the photo and thinking what is different…………….lol
Ok in case you can’t tell I have new haircut, I had it cut
on Friday while out shopping and two out of three daughters don’t like it and
neither does Tim, the rest of my family say they like it. I was fed up with my
hair always looking scraggly and messy yes it is a little shorter then I wanted
but it will grow fast my hair always grows pretty quick and yes I know hair is supposed
to grow at a set rate but mine seems to grow faster than other peoples hair…………
Now I also have some other news I have to go and see a blood
specialist to see if they can figure out why I am so low in iron, I went to the
GP this morning and he said that before I had my iron injections my iron level
was 5 and blood count was 111 and after having the iron injections my iron
level is 5 and my blood count is 111 yes you read that right nothing changed at
all……………….so now I just have to wait to hear from the hospital to when my
appointment will be, the doctors surgery will fax over the referral and the hospital
should contact me within in the next fortnight .
i think it's cute and sassy! the iron thing worries me, certain foods help in absorbing iron into the body and some block it (tea/cola) has your dr examined your eating habits? i would suggest doing some research and eating more liver too! here's an article i found it's pretty basic but it covers the main points!
ReplyDeletePhoto Credit Hemera Technologies/PhotoObjects.net/Getty Images Iron is an essential mineral needed by the body to take oxygen to muscles and organs. Without enough iron, you may become anemic. Iron is found in red meat, fish, poultry, dried fruits, leafy green vegetables, seeds, nuts and fortified cereals. Layering the iron with other nutrients can aid in the absorption. Some of the combinations provide a synergistic effect. However, other foods that are rich with polyphenols, such as cola, tea or coffee will block and prevent some absorption of iron. Soy protein with plant sources of iron and bran may also decrease absorption of the mineral.
Citrus Fruits
Adding citrus fruit boosts the body's ability to absorb iron. For example, to increase the benefits of iron in a spinach salad, serve it with mandarin oranges or other citrus fruit. A glass of orange juice with a breakfast of iron fortified cereal does the same thing. Another delicious and nutritious combination is a poached egg and enriched whole wheat toast with a side of all natural citrus marmalade.

Tomatoes, green peppers and other vegetables high in vitamin C help with the absorption of iron. Prepare a turkey, chicken or fish filet and top it with a sauce of tomatoes, peppers and onions to add nutritional value and increase the iron that is absorbed. Stir frying peppers, broccoli and onions with steak or chicken will do the same thing. Spaghetti with a tomato-based meat sauce provides the ingredients for ultimate iron absorption. Bean salads with lemon juice, cucumbers and tomatoes provide another excellent combination.
Potatoes
Potatoes are also rich in vitamin C, so add a serving of baked potatoes, mashed potatoes or oven-fried hash brown to an iron-rich meal, and your body will absorb more of the valuable mineral. Shepherd's pie, with ground beef, potatoes and a vegetable provides valuable nutrients that work together and assist the iron.
Cooking Vegetables
Cooking vegetables versus eating them raw may increase the iron absorption, as stated on the Anemia.org website. According to an article on the Rutgers University website, cooking in a cast iron skillet also increases the amount of iron in the food. Some of the iron from the skillet is absorbed into the food as it cooks

DeleteI have to agree with Timothy, cute and sassy!
ReplyDeleteI like it.
Taking extra Vit C daily helps your whole body work better they say..... and extra Vit D.....
Hope you get that iron up where it's supposed to be...
I do take Vit C and Vit D with my daily vitamins but nothing seems to help with the iron levels.....
DeleteLOVE the new look! You are so full of life and energy- great pics! I do hope the dr's can find out what is going on and make it right very soon~
ReplyDeleteThanks I like the hair style too, and I can only hope the specialist can find out why I am so low in iron.
DeleteThe haircut looks fabulous. But, I have to ask...why a picture in a shoe store?
ReplyDeleteI was in Big W shoe department after having my hair cut talking to my daughters when I asked for someone to take a photo for me.....
DeleteGreat haircut! I need to cut my hair too. And I hope you find your answers about your bloodwork.
ReplyDeleteThank you and me too.......
DeleteI can't believe your family don't like your new look as I love it but then I am a sucker for bob cuts. I don't have one myself of course as my hair is just too thick and frizzy so I'd look like my head was twice the size. Also when working with children its best to have it tied back due to lice. I think you should keep it like this.
ReplyDeleteThey will get use to it most of the family.....aka my parents and sisters like the hair style.......
DeleteI really like the bob, but am not sure yet if I like the bangs. Looks like it might be easier to keep up. Really wondering why your iron level never changed. You'll have to let us know. That just seems so strange. Maybe this specialist can help. Have a great week with your new do! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so do I, yes I will let everyone know what the blood doctor has to say....
DeleteHi Jo-Anne. I really like your new hair! Really lovely. Hope the doctor can sort out your iron levels sooner rather than later. Do you get very tired because of it?
ReplyDeleteThank you and yes I get very tired because of the low iron levels and often want to go to bed very early because I can no longer stay awake........
DeleteJo-Anne - I liked your haircut. And I hope you get your iron figured out and feel better. sandie
ReplyDeleteMe too and thank you
DeleteDearest Jo-Ann,
ReplyDeleteYes, you look really refreshed and proper length♪♪♪
Oh, So Worrying matter for your iron levels!!! Thinking about you and praying for the doctor can find why the injection won't work, my friend.
Sending you lots of love and hugs from sis-city in Japan, xoxo Miyako*
Thank you I do like the hair style and love the way I look and thank you for the prayers I can only hope the blood doctor has answers for me
DeleteI really like it. Family never likes a new hair style right off the bat. When they get use to it and you make another change they complain as if you had it forever... LOL.
ReplyDeleteI hope they figure out the iron thing. That is just plan weird. :)
Yes that is what my mum said about the hair, and she was right they will get use to it. I am happy with it though and it is my head.......lol Yes my GP thought it was weird that the iron levels didn't change too
DeleteI like your hair. Please tell anyone who doesn't like it that Janie says, Go to hell.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Thank you Janie I will do just that..........
DeleteWhen it comes to how you wear your hair it seems to me that if you like that's all that matters. You are the one who has to wear it and like it. What's important is the person you are. If you like your hair that way, good for you. :)
ReplyDeleteYes you have a good point and I do like my hair the way it is......
