I have an addiction........ Blogging

Why did you start your blog?

I got interested in blogging when my father started one many years ago I thought I would give it a go and for the first few months all I did was write about family lunches each Sunday and I never read anyone else’s blog but then one afternoon I clicked on someone else’s blog and read and left a comment and that was it I was hooked. In fact I think I am addicted to blogging I love blogging and try and get online each day to do some blogging here and over a Bigpond and also at Goodblogs..............

At first I just read and blogged over at Bigpond Blogs but then one of the blogs I read said they had another blog over here at Blogspot so I came here and signed up and have been blogging here also since then.

I like to write about my family and my life yes sometimes I like to have a bitch and don’t care about whether my family read my blogs or not although if I am honest I would like it if they did read it sometimes and even more so I would like it if they left a comment if they had read it.

I think of my blog friends the same way I think of my pen friends and in fact I will often use bits of my blogs in my letters to my pen friends.

  1. Great post! I started blogging because I needed to have an outlet and since I love to write well it was a way to de stress my life a bit. I wish my hubby would read my blog :O(
You have an awesome blog and I am so glad I follow it!

  2. I have been blogging for more than five years now, sometimes I love it and sometimes I hate it. Either way, I would not stop. I mostly write it for me, but my family does read it, so there are times I am forced to filter what I say. That was not the original intention of it, but all in all, it's become a part of me. Those that matter to me know to look there if they want to know how/what I am doing. I am just not good at IRL communication, sometimes.

Great post, Jo-Anne, thanks for bringing up a wonderful subject.
    Have an awesome day. :)

  3. i blogged for years on yahoo360 (best site EVER rip and damn you yahoo!) then i moved over to myspace (hated it) multiply (dead no one ever goes there) then i saw a link on tara costas fb page for a blog (who stopped blogging almost immediately hope she's ok) and here we are. i don't think of y'all as bloggy buddies you're simply friends. i worry and feel joy just as much as i do in the real world. and yeah i'm probably an bloggaddict, but hey it's cheaper than shopping and better for you than booze! lmao i've said i write for myself and tis true but i do adore comments, support, even constructive criticism. have yourself a great day now ya hear! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

  4. Nice post. I have been blogging for over 6 years. I had another blog when I was working that I retired and then started the one I have now 3.5 years ago.

I love the friends I have made but mostly I blog to journal our life. I want it to always be there for my family when I am gone. I especially like reading all my friends' blogs. ;)

  5. great post! i started blogging in 2008 when ron's health started going downhill (more rapidly than in year's past). that's when i started my grandson's blog (www.isaiahseyes.com) so there would be a record of his accomplishments and challenges. i wanted him to be able to look back on it and see how far he has come in life.

my main blog is there partly to keep my sanity and partly to document everything that life throws at us. i can look back and say "wow! you were such a bitch!" or "you should be proud for overcoming that roadblock."

one of my kids reads my blog on a regular basis. one doesn't even know it exists. the other reads if i tell her i've posted something for her to read.

  6. Hi Jo-Anne. I've been blogging since October last year, and, like you, I am totally hooked. Nay, addicted! Sometimes I even begrudge the time I have to spend away from the blogging community, which I know is just not good! Sometimes I do struggle to keep up with reading everyones' blog and leaving comments, and then replying to my comments (!),but I have met such genuine, sincere people that it is all worth it.

  7. I started blogging because i realized that my family didn't much find the thingds i liked that interesting so i started a blog to put them in. then it kind of progressed as alace to write my poems and then eventually people started to actually care about my opinions and wanted them . so know i blog because well i have a big mouth and i love to talk and on here i can blog about anything and people can choose to read or not.

    Hi Jamie

I hate it when I feel like I have to filter what I want to say.

    Hi Tim

I think we all love comments and constructive criticism.

    Hi Skippy

When I read that you have been blogging for 6 years I thought bloody hell thats a long time, but then remembered that I have been blogging for about 7years myself....how time flys.

    Hi Teresa

Blogging is a good way at keeping ones sanity and helping us destress and keep things in perspective.

    Hi Thisisme

I get annoyed when I do not have the time to blog it is just something I like to do each day...I could spend more time on it then most of the family would like...

    Hi Becca

Yeah it is great when people find out that there are people who like to read our writtings and leave lovely comments.

  9. I started blogging thanks to my panpal. She had a blog. Before I never read any blogs but her being my friend, I checked what she's writing there. Then I started checking other blogs and finally wanted to have my own:D I am not a regular blogger though. I have periods when I blog more and periods when I'm lazy blogger:] Oh well. Only two of my penpals check my blog but I understand that not everyone must like reading blogs so I'm not too bothered about it. I sometimes think I'm blogging more for my own fun than for others^^

  10. Blogging certainly reminds me of the days when I had pen friends many years ago now. For me it started out as a newsletter as a way to keep in touch with family and friends but it has gradually become a blog 'News From Italy'

  11. HI Got that swing

I love it when I get a comment that is not on my latest posting.

You don't have to blog every single day I do enjoy reading you postings though. I don't think any of my penpals read my blogs but that isn't important to me........

    Hi LindyLou

Thats how my father's blog started as a family newsletter but he soon he got bored with it but by then I was blogging and hooked myself.....
