My Monday.............

Ok let’s start with last night we had both grandsons and Jessica here for the night, we had Blain as his mum said her car is out of rego and she needed me to take Blain to school this morning so anyway the boys were being loud and full on like they always are when they are together and Tim was angry because the boys were loud and Jessica said she was tired and sick and wasn’t up to doing anything which is the reason her and Leo were here for the night………………..anyway I didn’t manage to get a nap during the day and by 7pm I was starting to feel done in and by 8pm I was in bed I just couldn’t do it any longer.

I don’t remember Blain coming to bed or Leo coming and getting into bed with us but I do kind of remember getting up with Leo because he had an ear ache and wanted something for the pain, I got up poured some pain medicine I do not remember how much I poured out and gave it to him. He then didn’t want to drink it and I had to coax him into having it by giving him a chocolate if he drank his medicine and then of course Blain came out and he wanted a chocolate which I gave him and then we go back to bed but Leo started complaining about something I don’t remember what and his mum called him back into the other room and he stayed there with her.

This morning I was trying to get out of the house before Leo woke up but didn’t happen he woke up and wanted to come with us and so I got Jes up to get him dressed while I got Blains shoes on him. We ended up being 5 minutes late for school and of course this was because Blain wanted me to park the car and come in with him and meet his teacher, then it turned out his class was in the computer room and he wanted to show me were that was. That involved walking up some stairs and on the way down after dropping Blain at the class room Leo goes walk slowly nanna one step at a time I don’t want you to fall down the stairs again…………..lol

After that I had to stop and have blood drawn for more blood tests and I took Leo with me while that was done and he was so cute, he took my hand and told me to look at him not at the needle and while she was getting the blood he patted my hand and said it’s ok nanna I am here just don’t look.

Then today I had some woman come around to show/tell us ways to save money on our electricity bill, but she ended up telling me I was doing all the right things and there was nothing she could really tell me, however just before she left she told me about an organisation that we could get cheap new white goods from on 18 months interest free, that I didn’t know about so it was worth her coming.

More Presents and My Blain

Yesterday afternoon I received a couple of more birthday presents see these ones lucky me so now I have luggage to go on holiday with and a new bag to boot, I love this little pink bag I don’t usually do little bags in fact I have large bags that I carry everything par the kitchen sink in………………..lol

However Kathy-Lee thought it would be a nice bag to take on holiday with me as she said I won’t need to carry around so much just my purse and my phone in fact I will not take my normal purse but think I will look and see if I have a smaller one that I can just put my licence and some money in instead.

Tonight we will have our grandson Blain here for the night and I will take him to school in the morning his mother’s car is out of rego till tomorrow, and Tim has said that he doesn’t want her to use the credit card for her rego any more he thinks and I agree that it is time the girls start trying to find the money to pay for their cars registration without relying on him…………….I know it is not easy for them but I also know that they are now in their 20’s and should be able to find the money on their own.

Jessica is feeling like shit so I told her if she wants both her and Leo can stay tonight but I will have Blain so she will have to decide if she wants to be around both the boys as they can be a real hand full when they are together………………………lol

Well Now I am 50.................

Yesterday was a busy day and it was also a special day for me as it was my 50th birthday……….yeah I am now middle aged although Tim told me I have been middle aged for the last 10 years but I do not think that way…………….lol

Anyway I had a great day got lots of nice messages both via text message and Facebook, I also got a lot of nice presents as you can see and I still don’t have a present from my daughter Kathy-Lee or Natasha, and to be honest I am not expecting anything from Natasha any time soon she has to get her car registered.  My sister Sandra left this on Facebook for me:

“Happy 50th birthday to my beautiful big sis Jo-Anne I love you so much you are the most thoughtful person I know hope you have a great day sis you deserve it I feel so lucky to have you as my big sis :) xxxxoooo”

I had hoped to go out for dinner last night but when hubby came home and I asked him what we were doing for tea he said he had no idea and drank a glass of wine and since it was my birthday I had a couple of glasses of Baileys and milk I was not able to drive………………….in the end we ordered pizza for Tim and cheesy garlic bread and hot chips for me as I don’t eat pizza any more. Yes I was upset that he didn’t take me out for dinner and when Kathy-Lee asked him about it he said he didn’t think of it and couldn’t see the point, he didn’t think he needed to do anything as he is taking me to New Zealand next week we leave on the 24th and return on the 2nd

Yes Tim surprised me with a holiday to New Zealand I am so excited about that and I only have a week to wait…………..lol See Tim can be so generous and loving at times but often on a day to day basis he is such a tight ass……………..but I do love him……………

On Sunday we are going over to my parents place for a baked lunch for my birthday, I wonder if I will get a cake and yes I know I could ask for a cake but I am not that type of person I would rather just get it without having to ask for it……………………

All in all I had a pretty good birthday I even got to see my grandson Blain for a little bit, Kathy-Lee brought him over to see me last night………..

Christmas Presents and Stuff

Well yesterday me and mum met up with my sister Sue for coffee and it went ok, Sue seemed to lossen up after a while and I know mum was very happy to see her...........Sue was ok with me but better with mum.  While we were waiting for Sue my daughter Jessica and my niece Kelli turned up with Leo and Daemon but left just after Sue turned up. Sue was about half an hour late which ment that we didn't get to spend as much time with her as we would have liked.

Today my mum had to go to Wakefield for an interview with the principal about how many days Dawson will be attending there next year. There is a chance that he may be able to attend all 5 days of the week, this would be great as he hates going to Hunter Sports High and on both days he is there mum has to deal with him saying he is sick or has a headache or something he will try anything to get out of going..............Now my brother has said that he would like it if Dawson was to attend Hunter Sports High 3 days a week next year but he has no idea how hard it is for mum and Michelle (Dawson's mum) to get him to go.

The Christmas gifts I hace bought from Chrisco and Hamper King have started to arrive the first box came yesterday.............tomorrow I will get my first hampers and have asked Jessica to be here in case they get delivered while I am out shopping the rest of them come next week. Both Kathy and Jessica have recieved their gift cards that I bought for them both got around $400 worth of cards they are part of their Christmas present and are from me to help them with the expense of Christmas.......

I am such a dill......................

What a day for feeling like a dill.............yes I feel like a dill why you wonder well a week or two ago I sent my sister Sue a letter and at the end of the letter I asked her is she would like to catch up for coffee today.

Anyway me and mum turn up and and waited but she didn't show and mum sent her a text about not showing and guess what it turns out I sent the letter to the wrong address..........so don't I feel like a dill.............lol I am so sorry sis I hope we can catch up later in the week............

On the way out to meet mum and Sue this morning I swear my car had a mind of it's own why because I drove as if I was going to the day care thankfully it didn't really make much of difference as I could still get to the shopping centre the way I was going.

This made me thing about doing things out of habit................like locking the bathroom door when I am the only person in the house or going over to my parents place and opening the fridge as soon as I walk into the kitchen this is something that not only I do but all my siblings as well.............My sisters have a habit of getting a can of Coke out of the back fridge as they walk past...........

So what type of things do you do out of habit?

Remembrance Day..............Lest We Forget

In Australia, Remembrance Day is always observed on 11 November, regardless of the day of the week, and is not a public holiday; it is a time when people can pay their respects to the substantial number of soldiers who died in battle. Some institutions observe two minute's silence at 11 a.m.

Through a programme named Read 2 Remember, children read the Pledge of Remembrance by Rupert McCall and teachers deliver specially developed resources to help children understand the significance of the day and the resilience of those who have fought for their country and call on children to also be resilient when facing difficult times.

Services are held at 11 a.m. at war memorials and schools in suburbs and cities across the country, at which the "Last Post" is sounded by a bugler and a one-minute silence is observed.

In recent decades, Remembrance Day has been largely eclipsed as the national day of war commemoration by ANZAC Day (25 April), which is a public holiday in all states.

All that said it is still an important day here and I always stop and remember at 11am.

Here in Australia those soldiers who are killed on peace keeping missions are not honoured by having their name added to the wall at the Australian War Memorial and I feel that it is just so wrong they are wearing the Australian uniform, they are still Australian Soldiers and they have died while serving and so they should be honoured http://www.awm.gov.au

What is it like in other countries do you recognise and honour your peace keeping soldiers the same as you do those fighting in war zones?
