Did You Know 1


Hello everyone, I hope everyone is well, this morning I am not so well but at least it isn't hot and we have had some rain just not enough. Well here are this weeks did you know facts.

Air-filled tyres were used on bicycles before they were used on motorcars.

In 1913 a Russian airline became the first to introduced a toilet on board

In 1620 a Dutch inventor Cornelius van Drebbel launched the worlds first submarine in the Thames.

Over 2,500 left handed people are killed each year from using products made for right handed people.

Pablo Picasso left 13,500 paintings, 100,000 prints & engravings, 34,000 book illustrations and 300 works of sculpture and ceramics.

  6. I actually knew the right/left handed one. Weird since I don't know many left handed people.

    Fun fact for you: Snakes can sense a coming earthquake from 75 miles away (121 km), up to five days before it happens.

  8. Hi Jo-Anne - amazing facts ... oh yes I can believe the left and right; while Picasso's works - I presume they're all real ... I heard recently that many of Dali's works were faked. Always interesting to pick up new ideas - cheers Hilary

  9. Interesting facts which I didn't know. Those suction toilets really scare me. I know a few left handed people and some are not totally left handed as they are able to use the right hand as well. It is just that their left hands are stronger and most of them write with their left hand.
