Are you a Christmas card sender?
I am and I like to send as much as I like to receive, maybe
more.
I haven’t received as many cards as I usually do but still a reasonable number.
Do you like to decorate the house, if so, do you do both inside
and out?
I Only like to do the inside but do add a few of the type that
cling to the window, they are easy to apply and easy to remove.
Does Christmas feel the same as it did years ago?
No, it doesn’t, with no young children around it’s just not the
same.
Yes, I send Christmas cards and have for maybe 40 years now. Less than I did at my peak, though.
ReplyDeleteI haven't decorated for many years, but I do keep colored lights around my window and patio door year-round. Oly ever have decorated inside because of living in apartments most all my life after I left home.
Christmas isn't the same as when I was young or my son was young. I have spent my Christmases alone for over two decades. That may change some after I move. But I have been fine on my own and we do celebrate Christmas together, usually afterwards. It remains my favorite holiday all my life. :)
Yeah my mum didn't bother decorating in the last few years of her life, she did have a Christmas tree though. I like sending cards for me it is a way of saying I have thought of you at this time of year. It is also the reason I now send birthday cards

I only decorated the rooms, but also very little.
I'm looking forward to the holidays though.

Yes years ago more cards would be sent, I remember my mum sending cards to many relatives we never saw and some we never met. Thanks I am expecting to have a good weekend
DeleteI do not send cards out - I used to, but so costly. I do decorate, but not outside. MERRY CHRISTMAS.
ReplyDeleteYes it can become costly to send a heap of cards but I still send a lot as I have a lot of penpals as well as family members
DeleteI do send Christmas cards and love to receive them, too. We decorate the inside of our home, but don't do a whole lot on the outside. Merry Christmas, Jo-Anne!

DeleteHaven't sent cards in years, unless you count the pic I used to share on FB with Laurie, Scrappy, and I wearing colored-on Santa hats. I might try that again with Misty, but Laurie's not feeling good today and would surely kill me if I tried. We are very minimalist this year deco-wise: just the village, a string of white lights, and some ornaments on our plastic elephant ear. And no, even with the young'uns it ain't the same.

DeleteMy husband sends out cards to his people - he really enjoys it. I think for me, I just don’t know what to do with the cards that I receive. Years ago, my mom would hang them in an archway of our dining room. I didn’t like that look. I think the price has deterred many from sending out cards plus it is an extra task.

No, Christmas has become a shell from what it was as a child and when mine were children. But it isn’t about all of that and so now I concentrate on its real meaning, sprinkled with some lights and ornaments from precious memories of the past.
I still send out a lot of cards and have the ones I received hanging in the lounge room, if it was up to Tim he wouldn't send any cards but he would say he has no one to send them too, I however have a lot of penpals.
DeleteI don't send cards, though I have a box in the closet. It seems to be a lost tradition. I do receive two every year ... one from my bank and one from my insurance company!! LOL. I love decorating, inside and out, but inside, no one sees it but me.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do mail out Christmas Cards. We haven't received too many yet either. I love to decorate inside, but because of my health I can't do too much this year. I'm sad about that. No, my husband never wanted to put lights up at this house. I would love to have decorations outside. I understand how it doesn't feel the same for you. We are blessed to have James which makes it pretty special. Take Care.
