More Earth Facts

Well here we are at another Monday and of course that means it is time for some more facts, still looking at Earth facts.

The Earth is the only planet in our solar system known to support life, as living things need just the right amount of heat and light from the sun as well as food, water and oxygen to survive.

If all the land on Earth was shared equally among the entire population, each person would get an equal size about the same ar couple of football pitches.

The Earth is over 4 billion years old, but it is only expected to support life for a further 500 million years. How the hell do they know that.

There are thousands of artificial satellites as well as twenty odd thousands pieces of man made currently orbiting the Earth.

The population of the Earth is about 18 billion and increasing

  4. I think you meant to write 8 billion people on earth. I don't know how they know all these things but it is sure something to ponder. Hard to wrap your head around those kind of facts. :)

  6. You know what thought Jo-Anne? I always wondered...Why does it have to be earth-like beings in other worlds. Sure, we earth types have to have all those things that are usually mentioned to support (our) life but..other beings don't HAVE to be like us. They can be entirely different with different needs. The insistence of all the "experts saying life can't exist here or there is silly I think. Who knows what form of life exists. Doesn't have to look like us.

    1. So very true, if there are other life forms they most likely won't look like us, these other planets cannot sustain human life but maybe fine for other life forms

  7. The "experts" say "only 500 million" more years. According to them we should have been extinct a dozen times in my lifetime alone.
