Do you watch Christmas
movies?
Do you have a
favourite?
I have a few favourites
such as The Polar Express with Tom Hanks and The Santa Clause movies
with Tim Allen.
On Sunday past I
watched The Man Who Invented Christmas which is the story of Charles
Dickens and how he came to write A Christmas Carol. I found the movie
in the On Demand section of my Foxtel when I was looking for
something Christmasy to watch and I did enjoy the movie.
We prefer the old Christmas movies like Nestor the Long Ear Christmas Donkey, but no one plays them anymore.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Christmas movie is The Life & Adventures of Santa Claus from the early '80s, but I've not been able to find the movie and no one plays it on TV.
The Polar Express has become a new Christmas tradition here and Netflix had The Santa Chronicles on which was pretty good.
Dear Jo-Anne, I, too, recently watched "The Man Who Invented Christmas." Like you, I liked it as it brought to life the Christmas Carol, which has always been a favorite of mine.
ReplyDeleteI'm not much into Christmas movies, but every year, which I bake and wrap gifts between our Thanksgiving and Christmas, I listen to the unabridged CDs of "Winter Solstice" by Rosamund Pilcher and "A Red Bird's Christmas" by Fannie Flagg. I've done that for maybe 10 to 15 years, so I can often recall the exact words of certain scenes! Both books help me remember the meaning of Christmas. Peace.
Plain Jane......I know some of the best Christmas movies are no longer seen.
ReplyDeleteDee........It was a good movie, many of the Christmas movies around today are not that good
I love Christmas movies. I can't remember the titles. And I love watching Christmas cartoons too.
ReplyDeleteI watch It's A Wonderful Life and A Christmas Story every year. Others maybe, too--but those for sure. :)
ReplyDeleteNancy......Nice to hear
ReplyDeleteRita.......Yes A Wonderful life is a great movie
