Where do you live

Where do you live?
By that I mean in what state or part of what country.

Me I live in Warners Bay which is a suburb of Newcastle which is in the state of New South Wales in the country of Australia.  Warners Bay is located on the northern side of Lake Macquarie, and I live a short 5 minute walk from the lake, so you would think I would spend a lot of time by the lake but nope I hardly ever go near the lake.

Tim and I moved to Warners Bay from Gateshead in 1988, over the years we have watched the area grow. I can tell you I love it here and have no interest in moving.

When we first moved here, there was no were near as many shops, there was a supermarket “Bi Lo” but I rarely went there as it was poorly lit and often didn't have what I wanted. Now we have a great supermarket “Coles” along with a bunch of other shops in the complex including a butcher, bakery, take away shops and coffee shops.

Tomorrow I will share with you the history of Warners Bay.

  1. I live in SW Michigan, USA. Home to vineyards, sand dunes, beaches and large bugs. I spent most of my life in the Chicago area, though. I lived in Australia for a year, as well!

  5. I live in a suburb of Kansas City, Kansas called Olathe. Olathe is in the middle of the U.S. Nearly the geographical exact middle of the country. The area is very suburban with about every imaginable restaurant and store. Not much is unique about this area. It is a nice place to raise a family as there are great schools and the cost of living is low.

    1. I think if I was to live in the middle of Australia it would be pretty hot and isolated, when we moved to Warners Bay it didn't have take away restaurants either but now it does.

  6. How very interesting! I live in the southern part of Texas, not too far from the Mexican border, and even closer to the beach.

  8. I live in northern Florida in the city of Jacksonville (the largest city in the U.S. in the sense that it covers more land than any other city; it doesn't have the largest population). My part of Jacksonville is called Murray Hill. People in Jacksonville tend to do things in their own neighborhoods as much as possible because the city is so large. Jacksonville Beach is about 30 minutes away. I've lived here four years and have never gone there. We have a professional football team, the Jaguars. I am not interested in football. I like my microcosm in Murray Hill.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. Sounds like living in Jacksonville is kind of like living in Sydney, as Sydney is very large and split into suburbs and people tend to stay in their own suburb

Our city is a small suburb of the capital of Minnesota which is St. Paul. I would love to visit Australia someday.
