Going home

DAVE & LEIGH

Received this message from my sister in-law Leigh about Dave.

His Coming Home later today! 🎉At first, we thought a tad early since the drains only came out yesterday but after talking with Respiratory Team just now and worked through our concerns, we are now confident with his Discharge today! Follow up with GP next Tuesday, Follow up bloods and Xray in 4 weeks, fast tracked if he was to represent back to ED with complications!

Sue and I will go and visit him tomorrow.

  1. That is absolutely phenomenal news, and you must all be breathing a massive sigh of relief to finally have Dave coming home! It completely makes sense that you were a bit hesitant at first with the drains coming out so recently, but having the respiratory team walk you through everything and set up that solid follow-up plan must give you so much peace of mind. There is truly no comfort quite like sleeping in your own bed after a hospital stint to kickstart the real healing. I hope you and Sue have a wonderful visit with him tomorrow, and please pass along the warmest wishes for a smooth, steady recovery!

  2. Be well, Dave.
Even if hospitals are full and there aren't enough staff, I still get anxious about sending patients home too early. Much better to have beds in a space next to the hospital for post-surgery recovery, under the constant supervision of a nurse.

  4. Well that is good he's coming home and I bet he's happy about that as you all are, but Dave would be most happy, Jo-Anne.
