I am on a very wet, windy and cold Tuesday afternoon at last writing
a post for the day, and what a day has it been, some of you might
here on the news about the terrible storm that has it the Hunter
Valley today and yes I live in the Hunter Valley, Newcastle is part
of the Hunter Valley it is the lower part of the Hunter Valley.
Now
let's go back to last night, that is when the bad weather started and
my daughter Jessica was yet again in a great deal of pain and I had
no car so was unable to go to her, it got that bad that she managed
to drive herself here, yes she had rung the ambo's but the paramedic
told her it was stress and muscle pain and did nothing. Well after
about an hour my niece Kelli turned up to drop Blain off for the
night while Tasha was at work, and because Jessica was in so much
pain screaming and crying she decided to take her to the John Hunter
Hospital (our main hospital).
This
morning I woke up to a note from Kelli that said Jessica had been
admitted to the hospital and would tell me more later. Seems Jessica
has pancreatitis and will need her gallbladder removed, that
hopefully will happen tomorrow. More about that later.
Back
to the weather it has been very bad here, Tasha went to Jessica's
place to meet some guy who was suppose to be picking up the work van,
(he never turned up) and while there the tree next to the van was
uprooted and the power lines came down. The tree missed Natasha by centimeters and gave her a terrible fright, all she could thing was
that if it had hit her it would have killed her, she managed to get
her car out of the driveway and came back here very shaken up and
crying.
When
Kelli went back to pick up some clothes for Jessica the road was
closed and the SES would not let her pass.
Tim
rode the motorbike to work this morning silly man, and wanted me to
go and get him at 7.30 tonight but at 4pm he walked in the door,
another driver drove him home as all the buses had been pulled off
the road. I will have to drive him to work in the morning and he is
hoping that by the time he knocks off it will be ok and he will be
able to ride the bike home safely.
Oh your poor daughter. Pain of that is dreadful, been there.
ReplyDeleteI heard about the massive storms when I got home from shopping mid afternoon. I am pleased you are all ok. Keep safe.
That you I also know the pain of gallstones but my pain was not the level of Jessica's pain and I am so glad that she is getting some answers and treatment
DeleteOh my gosh, I'm so sorry your daughter is sick, I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers. Those storms are terrible. We had some move through last night too. No damage thank goodness. Stay safe!

DeleteHi, Jo-Anne! I'm terribly sorry to learn about that frightful storm, the damage it caused and the latest medical crisis in your lovely family. I hope the worst is over now and that Jessica is on the road to recovery. My prayers are with you all!

DeleteJust was looking at your weather- geez! Glad no one was hurt, but too bad the ambo didn't take a blow to the head. What a jerk! I'd have gotten his name and faxed him my diagnosis.

DeleteYour life has been as turbulent as the weather. I'm so glad Tasha wasn't hurt. So scary! Will pray for your daughter's speedy recovery.

DeleteWell you've certainly had quite a bit of excitement in your day. I hope Jessica had her surgery and is on her way to recovery.

ReplyDeleteWhat a fate; and this could have been very dangerous without getting to the hospital. Wonder why the paramedics decided NOT to pick her up?! And what a storm with lots of pulled up trees and such.
Hope it has calmed down and that Jessica is okay.

Yes Jessica is ok and the storm is gone now and Jessica has had surgery
DeleteThat sounds like a terrible storm!! And then in the middle of it all your poor daughter has to deal with pancreatitis and surgery--goodness! And they were ignoring her. So frustrating! I hope all goes well and everyone is okay. Thank goodness that tree didn't hit anyone.
ReplyDeleteShe was being told for months that it was stress and nothing to worry about and to calm down, but have to say I am glad that we now have an answer and she has had surgery and should be ok now, fingers crossed.
DeleteGood GRIEF Jo-Anne! What a nightmare and thank heavens Jessica is in the hospital. Pancreatitis is a HORRIBLE painful terrible thing to happen. Thank heaven she is in hospital. She may have to stay awhile. My son't lady friend had that happen to her and she was there a while. Thank goodness all is well with the rest of the family. xox
ReplyDeleteYes we are glad that at last she has been given an answer for the pain and has been operated on and has had her gallbladder out and we are hoping she will be better now not sure how long she will be in hospital for the surgery was yesterday afternoon
