A Funeral and a Nephew

Yesterday hubby and I had to get up early and go to a funeral in Sydney it was his step fathers funeral he passed away on the 20th just shy of his 81st birthday.

Now Tim was not that close to his step father "Clive" but still of course we went to his funeral and naturally Tim was a little upset at is passing, he had only seen Clive the weekend before he passed and at that time Tim said he wasn't the best.

I did think some of Tim's nephews were dresssed like something the cat draged in to me you do not wear track pants and shirts with someone giving the finger to a funeral just not resepectful in my opinion.

So today since I didn't get to do my weekly shopping yesterday I had to do it today and hubby decided to come with me and when we got home at 2.15pm this afternoon Tim said he was buggered and what did I say................"welcome to my Fridays" why because I am on the go every Friday from the time I get out of bed till sometime in the afternoon.

Tomorrow I may be going out with mum to Dawson's school "Wakefield" for some kind of event and yes tomorrow is Sunday it is the anniversary of the schools opening not sure how long they have been open but if I go tomorrow I will find out more then.

  1. Eeek! I totally agree with you, that it's not really on to wear track pants to a funeral. Doesn't show much respect, does it?! I know that youngsters don't always think like us, but there are certain times when you really do have to make the effort and dress appropriately;

  4. I agree that it's the ultimate in disrespect to come dressed that way to a funeral. My sympathies on your family's loss, and I hope you get some rest.

  5. I think if a parent bitches about family members in front of their children, they have little to no respect for that person even if they were really nice. Still I think for one day all should have made an effort.

  8. Sorry hit before I was done.
It seems like people don't know how to dress anymore. They can go almost anywhere in almost anything. I think it's disrespectful, too. Sorry to hear about his stepfather.

  9. Diane......Yes I agree some younger people don't seem to know how to dress thankfully my girls are not amongest them.......but they would have learnt from me and their dad how to dress

    Kristy.....Thank you for that

Whiteangel......Yes I guess there is that they went and they did have more to do with him then my family

Shelly.......Thank you good to read that others agree with me

Bubbles.....Yes I agree I think the reason my girls have no respect for Tim's father is because they have heard us talk about how badly he has treated their dad

Momto8......I agree with you comment about common sense.....consdering how their dad dress you are most likely right about them not know how to dress

Rita....I agree there are so many people around who have no idea how to dress now days and I think it is such a shame, Tim's brothers have never been that knowledgeable about how to dress either.......

  10. sorry for your loss. it is hard to lose someone, even when you're not close to them. the attire you described is totally tacky and not funeral appropriate at all.

  14. Yes, it does seem very disrespectful to dress that way... but in the US it does seem as if the younger people do not understand conventions. Mostly, I am sorry for your loss.

Thank you so much for coming to my blog and for your beautiful comment.
