Lucky Me

Lucky me I found out today that because I am anemic I will have to have a Colonoscopy I do not know when this will happen the doctor has sent the referal off to the hospital and they will contact me with a date for the procedure. Now I have one done years ago so I do know what to expect and the procedure it's self is not that bad it is the preperation that sucks.......

I have been low in iron most of my life my mum always says I was born iron deficient and have been so most of my life.......

I am on iron tablets and still I have low iron levels I do hope they find a reason for it but I am not holding out any hope that they will.............

  1. Oh so sorry you have to go through that procedure again. Prayers on their way! I was anemic when I was pregnant and that was the suckiest feeling! Hope you feel better. Blessings, Joanne

  2. My friend found out he was anemic and it turned out he had Scurvy from not getting enough vitamin C.
Seems without Vitamin C you dont absorb iron very well. Just a thought

  3. i don't envy you that. true it's the prep that is the worst. i must say waking up is pretty good though. i thought i'd died and gone to heaven. all white billowy curtains around me, sun beams just coming through, comfy pillows. felt amazingly great, better than great really. they gave me fruit salad. it was incredibly delish. i asked them what brand it was thinking i must buy some. hahahaha. then the drugs wore off. bummer good luck with yours. is there medication for anaemia? i guess there is. it's not as simple as diet.

  5. Hi Jo-Anne. I'm sorry that you have to have that procedure again. Not particularly pleasant. I guess it will be worth it if only they could find the cause of your anaemia. I would think that you feel pretty tired a lot of the time. Take care and let us know how it all goes.

  6. Joanne, are you in a city? I know this is a rather strange question, but I have my reasons.

  7. They are no fun to have but if it helps find something then it's worth it. Hope it all goes well whenever it is. Take care of yourself!

  10. Hi all

Not a pleasent test but if it tells why I am always low in iron then it will be worth it. I just hope I do not have to wait to long before I have the test done.....
