Planning our next holiday and more

Boy am I tired today, but I am watching Summer so no chance for a nap or anything.

Hubby was going though his pay dockets and realised he has been underpaid a few times, well he things he has been he is going to have a chat with someone at work and make sure he hasn't been underpaid.

This morning it was pretty wet here so I didn't bother to do my laundry now it seems to have stopped and is fining up but I think by the time the clothes would be washed it would be too late to peg them out so hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for washing.

I just had a phone call from the travel agent I am arranging a trip for me and hubby on the Savannahlander Train this was inspired by Diane who took this trip with her husband and I loved the photos of it so much that I said I wanted to go  on the train so now I just have to talk hubby into it..............lol anyway you can find Diane here: http://diane-adventurebeforedementia.blogspot.com.au/

I expect hubby to complain about the cost but we will see what he has to say about it anyway, all I can do is have the facts laid out and talk to him and hope I can convince him to go on the holiday.

The cost for the holiday is $4,590 which includes rail travel all the way to Cains and the trip on the Savannahlander Train and then home via countrylink, now he says to me will it cost less to fly to Cains so I am going to send another email to the travel agent and tell her he now want's to know  if it would be cheaper to fly to Cains damn he is annoying. However I do understand how he feels.

  1. Wow, Joanne I am chuffed that I have inspired you to do this trip. I sure hope you can do it. It is actually much cheaper to fly to Cairns and then do the Savannahlander. We flew up but caught the train home. I really think the Sunlander Train from Brisbane to Cairns is over priced and not that exciting unless you get off and stay at places on the way, which is an option with the train travel but that is even much more expensive. If I was you I would fly up and back to Cairns and spend another $300 on the day trip to Waterfalls and Paranella Park as well as the Savannahlander. There is a lot to do in Cairns which is better to spend money on rather than the rail trip up and back. A day trip out to Lizard Island and the Barrier Reef is another great trip. That's just my opinion.

    1. Yes we have decided to fly up and back but at this time it will now have to be around October 2014, yesterday hubby had a job interview at work and had to agree he wouldn't take holidays for 12 months before they would consider him for the position. It is annoying but I understand he has been trying to get on full time for a while now so he agreed, now we just have to wait and see if he gets the job. I have made a not of the waterfalls and Paranella Park so I don't forget them when the time comes.

    1. He has agreed that we will do the trip but it will not be till around October 2014 now as he had to agree not to take holidays for 12 months yesterday when he had a job interview at work for a full time position. At least he is all for the trip now and said if we can book the Savannahlander now for October 2014 we can go and do so

    1. Yes she is so inspiring and has so great trips that stream train sounds like it would be cool as well and a skyrail well that appeals to me as well.

  5. The trip sounds really interesting. Perhaps you can work the price down a bit with the air travel and make it a little more enticing to your husband. Hope it works out for you.
