Good morning everyone, how are you all? I am all stuffed up in the head with body aches and a slight headache and this is the second day I have felt like this but being mum I just suck it up and solider on.
Yesterday as rotten as I felt and feeling oh so tired and like I needed a nap what did I do I sucked it up and went and met mum at the xray place to be with her while she had her heal xrayed and an ultrasound done of it. Then we went over to the John Hunter (hospital) for her appointment to get the results of all the tests done on her kidneys, well the test showed nothing sinister the doctor has asked for a follow up ct scan to be done in January and for mum to go back in February and if everything still looks good then they will just chalk up the lumps as something mum has and no further action needed.
Now my sister Sue has been complaining for the last week more or less that she is "so sick" and has been in bed all the time, damn I don't know anyone who sleeps as much as she seems to do. Although she will say that she is often not asleep just sitting up in bed on the computer, however mum has on a number of occasion gone and knocked on her door to speak to her and when she has received no answer has opened the door and found her asleep.
Would I like to be in bed yeah but I don't feel like I have the time to be sick there is so much I either need to do to want to do so as I said I just suck it up and deal.............I think many women are the same.
Oh yeah mum's xray showed she has a spur on her heal which may be the reason it hurts so much when she is standing or walking. I don't know how they treat a spur I guess I will find out soon, when mum knows she will tell me.
Little Sydney-May is sick she was running a fever of 39°C yesterday so her mum and Mickey took her to the after hours GP, they put her on antibiotics which of course she doesn't want to take. Thankfully this morning her temp is down to 37°C but she still doesn't look or feel well.
Ok that is all my news for this post.....................
Oh, I hope you clear up and feel better soon. I had some bone spurs in my heel and had to get a couple of injections over some weeks directly into the heel. It did the trick!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how they are going to treat mums heel yet hopefully she will be able to tell me tonight when I speak to her.
DeleteStop being sick! All of you!!!
ReplyDelete(Did that help??)
Really...get better soon!!

Yeah it helped I am feeling better, now my back is aching but that is because I had to walk around a bit with Summer.
DeleteWhen we have children around who need us, we don't have the luxury of being sick and staying in bed. Now that my children are adults and I don't have grandchildren, I still can't stay in bed because the dogs need me.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Yeah if I want to be sick it has to happen between Sunday and Tuesday..........lol
DeleteYou have it right about the way many women are - we soldier on. Gotta be tough to be a woman :)
ReplyDeleteSo true
DeleteWell take this right - I hope you feel better - but don't send the germs this way -lol. sandie
ReplyDeleteI am feeling better thankfully and I like to keep things to myself I hate to share........lol
DeleteA heal spur can be bloody painful. I'm not sure what can be done about it but I'm sure your mum would feel better when or if they can. I hope you feel better yourself... Soldier on my friend. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope something can be done for mum she is on her feet all day most days.
DeleteOh gurl, all ladies are getting sick. Wish you'll do okay soon. Ah the sleepy sister is a global issue!
ReplyDeleteAreeba @ Aree With Umbrella
Yes I am feeling much better today
DeleteSorry to hear you are not well as well as other family members. It is a depressing time but bravo for soldiering on.
ReplyDeleteI don't have the time to be sick unless it happens between Sunday and Tuesday.......lol and even then I may need to suck it up and carry on
DeleteI hope everyone gets past this flu or whatever it is. Moms have no time to be sick. Feel better!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is flu season here
DeleteDearest Jo-Anne,
ReplyDeleteOh, at times we do feel like a rag and rather would want to hide in a corner or in the bed. But as you say, sometimes you just have to suck it up and deal with things that no one else could do. Glad you got to go with your Mum and let's hope her kidneys will be fine. I know that feeling personally, my kidneys are damaged but they could not yet determine what those spots were. For that I had to pay over $ 5,000 out of pocket for all the expensive tests. Why is it that in the medical world they calculate THAT much? It makes us suck it up and do with very little for quite a while in order to get over it.
But let's be positive; we're still all there!
Hugs,
Mariette
Thankfully mum didn't have to pay for any of the tests she had done neither will she have to pay for the ones she is still to have done come January, the government pays.
DeleteI had a spur on my baby toe once and it hurt like hell! I could hardly wear shoes. They did surgery to remove it and had to wear one of those boots for a while. But it helped. I couldn't believe how much pain that little thing caused. Best of luck to her and hope you are feeling better soon too!
ReplyDeleteYeah I could see the spur on mums heel when they did the xray and for such a little thing it causes so much pain. I don't think mum would be keen on surgery but sometimes you just have to do what needs to be done if you want the pain to go.
DeleteHope you are all feeling better soon! Glad the kidney scan of your mom came back clean!
