No It's Not Storming Here But What Do You Think Of Them Anyway...........

Since it is cold and wet outside more cold then wet though but still not a very nice day, I have the heater on while I sit here and type this I thought I would ask how you feel about storms……….

So how do you feel about thunderstorms? Do they scare you? Or are you one of those people who like to sit outside and watch the storm? Maybe you are a storm chaser or have a dream of being a storm chaser.

Me I don't mind storms and I don't mind watching a storm from the safety of my house, but I would never want to be out in the storm and yes there has been times when I have been driving somewhere when a storm hit and I can tell you I hated it..................

I hate to drive in bad weather and also at night so if it is dark and the weather is bad I am really freaked out...............lol

Tim has always been someone who loves storms he likes to stand outside under cover of course but outside and watch the storm; he finds them fascinating and has been this way since I met him way back when..............

I remember when the girls were little he would offer to take them outside to watch the storm out of the three girls only two of them would go out with him Jessica and Natasha, Kathy preferred to stay inside as she would get scared during the storm although as she got older the fear of storms eased up.

I think it was good that Tim liked to take the girls outside to watch the storm as it helped to make them understand it was not something to be scared of but since Kathy didn't want to go with him I would tell him not to make her that would only make matters worse, in fact it is one of the few times that I felt that Kathy liked to be with me when she was little cuddled up to mummy while the storm passed.

So do you live in an area that gets lots of storms or are the rare?
Here we get a few thunderstorms a year but rarely get really bad ones thankfully.

  5. Thanks for the prayer for storms! I grew up in Southern Louisiana (U.S.) and it rained and stormed a lot. There was always big crashes of thunder. It frightened me to no end and yet I loved it. Now I live where lightening is a rare thing. I miss it. Oddly, the other night we had an electrical storm for 3 hours. It was wonderful! We sat on the stairs to get away from the windows that were open and waited it out. I love the fact that lightening puts all those negative ions in the air that have a positive effect on the brain.

  7. I like rainy days for sure but as far as storms go, the word "like" might be a stretch. Most storms don't frighten me but if the lightening is very severe or there is imminent danger of high winds or hail, I get very nervous.

I have been in two tornadoes and have seen lots and lots of funnel clouds. Just last year a hail storm destroyed my roof and broke windows. I am very wary of "severe" weather.

  9. We don't get many storms where we live now, but we did where we lived before. We had a covered porch with a swing. We would set on the swing and watch the storm. I miss that. :)

  10. Dearest Jo-Ann,
In Japan, we always have the fear of Typhoon during the late summer or early fall. It sure is a scary thing that we always check the weather forecast to see its course. Do you have to be careful for hurricane in New Castle?
my neighbor's verandawas blown off several years ago.....

Sending you lots of love and hugs from sis-city Japan, xoxo Miyako*

  12. We've had some rain and storms this season, weird, but it's been a weird year for weather so far. I don't mind them much though I don't want to go out much when it's storming. My daughter on the other hand, HATES THEM. She thinks tornadoes come with the clouds and stuff, it's a pain really~

  13. We had quite a thunderstorm yesterday. A lot of big lightning. My oldest son hates storms so he was all freaked out. My husband and I personally like storms to an extent. I'm not sure why. Maybe because he sleep to rain music.

  14. I love that prayer for the storms! I happen to love a good thunder storm...as long as it doesn't knock out my satellite. If it gets in the way of my tv shows, then I'm a little cranky.

  17. i LOVE storms, all the noise and energy crashing about. i seldom go out in bad storms as in florida where i lived for 16 years dozens of people a year are killed/struck by lightening. it's so flat that i guess people ARE the high ground! i actually have been known to dance in the rain and jump into puddles, and when i was a wee lad my grandmas house had a tin roof and i loved nothing better than to listen to the rain making "music " on it!
