I am worried about my mum............

For the last few weeks my mum has had a problem with pain in her left arm lasting from a few hours till all day some days the pain would be pretty bad other days not so bad, she has also had some chest pains on different days so she ended up going to the doctors last week and when she did she was in for a shock as she really didn't expect our GP to react the way he did. He sent her for an ECG and blood tests and gave her a script for a pimpspray call Nitrolingual and told her to spray it under her tongue whenever she got the pain.

They did the ECG at the doctors surgery and when it was done the nurse called him to look at the results and he wasn't happy and went and had a chat with an other doctor at  practice and told her that he wanted to see her in a weeks time by which time he should have the results to the blood tests back.

So yesterday she went back to see him and get the results and to report how the Nitrolingual was working..........well the Nitrolingual has been working well and after seeing all the results the GP has refered her to a Cardiologist as he believes there is some kind of blockage and although at the moment the pain in more like Angina he wants everything to be fully checked out.

Both of mums brothers have had heart problems both of them having heart bypass operations .

Even though I know mum will be fine I am still worried about her she is my mummy and I do not like to see her unwell and I really need her around for many more years to come..........

  1. I am not surprised your Mom's GP was concerned. Those are a few of the signs of heart attack. Bless your Mom. I am glad she went to the doctor and is getting checked out.

Sending good thoughts that she is on the mend soon.

  2. I am so glad she went to the Doctor...alot of women ignore those signs. I am praying for your Mom. I hope she gets better soon.
    Blessings, Joanne

  3. My mom recently had a heart health scare that landed her in the hospital for 5 days. Turns out it wasn't the heart attack they thought it was but rather VERY bad indigestion. You can never be too careful. I'm glad she got herself to the doctor!

  4. These are classic symptoms of heart disease or a pending heart attack. Be glad she went when she did. Hope all goes well. Please keep us posted. Sending hugs and positive thoughts your way and hers.

  5. You are sweet for caring so much about your mum. I shall pray for her and for you.

  6. Thank goodness we have caring Doctors who want to get to the bottom of the problem.
I wish your mum well also you Jo-Anne :)
PS I got the video working on my blog.

  7. glad they're keepin an eye on her she's in my prayers!

  8. i hope she'll be ok. it's always a worry when someone we love is sick.

  9. Now that she is receiving medical attention, things should improve. If there is anything serious to be done, her specialist will do the necessary to ensure she is no longer in any danger and, with your Mum's inherent cheerful and feisty nature, as well as the love and support of all of you, I am sure she will recover and go on to be around for many more years. Stay strong, Jo-Anne and take care. xo

  10. Oh, dear Jo-Anne.
Moms are precious to us all, aren't they☆☆☆
Like others said, I'm glad that she is under the doctor's care.
I'm hoping that she gets better swiftly and my fingers are crossed, my sweet friend!!!
    Hugs to you, Orchid*

  11. Skippy...........Yes that was the first thing I thought of when she told me about the pain and I told her to go to the doctor but she still put it off for another week or so.

Joanne.......At first mum just ignored it as well but after she had been told by family memnbers to get to a doctor she went.

Jewels.......Indigestion can be bloody painful well mine can be but it is better to be safe then sorry.

Barb.........I will be going with her to see the specialist and will post what he says after it happens.

Lola.......Thank you for your prayers she isn't just my mum she is my best friend and I do not know how I would cope without her.

Whiteangel.......Thank you yes we do have some good doctors around mum has been seeing the same doctor for 22yrs.

    Tim.......Thank you for your prayers

Yevisha......I think she will be fine she is mum she isn't allowed not to

Desiree......Mum is a surviver she had a stroke in 1978 when my brother was only 6 weeks old and you wouldn't know she ever had it to look at her

Orchid......Even though I know she will be fine I still worry about her but I think that is normal as our mothers are important to us.

  12. We wish your Mum a speedy recovery. I know too well, having suffered heart problems for the last eight years.

  13. Gosh. I'm glad she is okay. I understand you completely. No matter how old my mom gets I will always need her around.

  14. Sounds like she's got good care--glad she went to the doctor sooner and not later!

  15. Hi Jo-Anne. I know just what you mean about being worried about your dear mum. They are so very important to us, aren't they? I just really wish that my mum was still around. I miss her so much. I pray that your mum will soon be back to full health and be around for many, many years to come. Hugs.

  16. glad that she went to the doctor! sounds like the GP is on top of things. women are very guilty of ignoring signs of heart disease, thinking they are just being overly cautious.

  17. wilbo43.......Thank you I appreciate your kind words.

Crystal......Our mothers are so special and I do not think there will ever be a day when I do not need my mum.

Green Girl......Yes we are all glad that she went and saw the doctor before it was to late.

Thisisme........I do believe my mum will be around for a long time to come, she doesn't like it when people make a fuss over her either.

Teresa.......We are lucky to have a great GP as it is hard sometimes to find a good GP, also the fact that we have been going to the same practice for somethink like 50yrs well I haven't been going there 50yrs I have only been going there

  18. I'm sorry that your mom has to go through all of this, but the dr's can do amazing things with heart problems these days, so I am happy that they found the problem and hopefully will be able to fix it soon. :)
