Planning our next holiday and more

Boy am I tired today, but I am watching Summer so no chance for a nap or anything.

Hubby was going though his pay dockets and realised he has been underpaid a few times, well he things he has been he is going to have a chat with someone at work and make sure he hasn't been underpaid.

This morning it was pretty wet here so I didn't bother to do my laundry now it seems to have stopped and is fining up but I think by the time the clothes would be washed it would be too late to peg them out so hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for washing.

I just had a phone call from the travel agent I am arranging a trip for me and hubby on the Savannahlander Train this was inspired by Diane who took this trip with her husband and I loved the photos of it so much that I said I wanted to go  on the train so now I just have to talk hubby into it..............lol anyway you can find Diane here: http://diane-adventurebeforedementia.blogspot.com.au/

I expect hubby to complain about the cost but we will see what he has to say about it anyway, all I can do is have the facts laid out and talk to him and hope I can convince him to go on the holiday.

The cost for the holiday is $4,590 which includes rail travel all the way to Cains and the trip on the Savannahlander Train and then home via countrylink, now he says to me will it cost less to fly to Cains so I am going to send another email to the travel agent and tell her he now want's to know  if it would be cheaper to fly to Cains damn he is annoying. However I do understand how he feels.

Two Nights with Blain

I had Blain here last night and again tonight why you may ask well last night because I have him Friday nights and tonight because tomorrow morning Tim is taking Blain and me to the truck show in at the foreshore. We have to get up around 6.30am and I thought it would be easier if he spent the night here, then trying to get Tasha out of bed early in the morning.

Last night he was asleep twice and woken up twice before he settled down for the night, the first time he woke up when Tim rang as soon as he heard his voice he sat up and said papa and had to talk to Tim. The next time he woke up crying for his mum and dad and was upset and wouldn't settle down again so I rang Tasha and she said that she was upset as Jono had the shits with someone there but no it wasn't her. After he spoke to them he was ok and went back to sleep and slept all night until 6.30am although when he woke up he want to talk to Tim and have a cuddle form Tim and even though Tim had only been in bed for about 2 hours he woke up and cuddle him and talked to him.

I dropped him at home around 10ish and at first Tasha seemed annoyed but when I told her we would be having Blain again tonight her mood changed.

Thankfully Blain went to sleep pretty quick tonight I just hope he stays asleep and sleeps all night.

Tim, Summer & Kathy-Lee

Good morning world, or if it isn't morning good afternoon, or evening whatever time it is. I am feeling so nauseous and even tired even though I had a good nights sleep followed by a nice hot bath this morning. I am  a morning bath person generally but my hair was dirty and bugging me, so I had a bath this morning and washed my hair. I didn't have a bath last night I just didn't feel like it.

So last night I am getting changed into my jammies and hubby looks at me and says "you going out" firstly I don't go out at night as a rule and secondly I was in my pj bottoms and had only my purple singlet on, and my nightie in my hand. So why did he think I would be going out I answer "no I am getting changed into my pj's" he says "that is your pj top" no Tim it is my singlet. Sometimes I wonder about the man.

Oh yeah on Saturday I bought the paper and when I get home hubby crap it and is reading it first that is fine I don't mind, however, after he went to work I went to get the paper to have a look at  it and couldn't find it. So yesterday afternoon I asked Tim where was it and he said he took it to work and left it there I was quite pissed off with him and snapped at him and all he could say was "I love you". Later he comes out and says you over it yet and I look at him and say not quite, he then says there was nothing in the paper of interest and I am how do you know what I would find interesting.

Yeah last night I noticed him in the kitchen making himself a toasted sandwich a couple of hours after he had tea and I said to him " you hungry still" this annoyed him but I only said it because that is what he has said to me when I have had something a couple of hours after I had my tea. I then said to him "now you know how I feel when you say that to me" if only it would stop him from making annoying comments.

When Kathy was here on Saturday she was saying how hard it was to take Summer's temperature as she didn't have an ear thermonitor and had to try to put one under her arm, so being the mum I am I gave her my thermonitor which only has to be held next to the forehead. I told her she could keep it and I would get myself another one, the last one I had which was an ear on I gave to one of her sisters, see I keep giving things away.

Kathy just rang and said that she had another bad night with Summer she now has a cough and is coughing a lot and will not feed because of it and she doesn't know what to do, as she isn't getting any better. I told her if she is worried then maybe she should ring the doctors and see if she can get her into see someone. There is very little you can do for a baby when they are sick like she is, now days there is nothing you can buy to help he with the cough you can only give baby paracetamol which she has ran out of.

Let's start this post off with, I am glad everyone liked the What the hell post yes I will be doing it each Thursday it will give me a reason to buy the paper........lol I am not replying to each comment this time around since I am super busy with washing & ironing and general house work and Kathy & the girls may be out later as baby Summer is still pretty sick. They came over yesterday and ended up staying for a few hours as Summer went to sleep after she fed and Kathy also fell asleep and both of them slept for nearly 2hrs and Kathy really needed the rest as Summer had her up most of the night before crying and not settling because she is so sick.

In fact last night I was expecting them to show up here again, I told Kathy they could come over if needed as Michael was having a bit of a party for his birthday. She rang around 6ish and asked if needed would I go over there and big them up and bring them back here I said I would. However, she didn't ring me again so as it turned out she didn't need me.

A few days ago I got fed up to the back teeth with Mozilla Firefox and changed over to Google Chrome so far so good, Firefox kept crashing on me or freezing then crashing.........lol I also changed Tim over to Chrome and the first thing he says to me is I couldn't find my email I had to show him where it is now I hope he is happy it will take him a little while to get use to it as he isn't like me it takes him a little longer to get things at times.

Mum has been to the doctor about her heel, she has to go back and have another ultrasound and get and Cortisone injection into it at the same time for those who do not know what a Cortisone  is it is a type of steroid that is produced naturally by a gland in your body called the adrenal gland. Cortisone is a powerful anti-inflammatory medication. Cortisone is not a pain relieving medication, it only treats the inflammation. When pain is decreased from cortisone it is because the inflammation is diminished. By injecting the cortisone into a particular area of inflammation, very high concentrations of the medication can be given while keeping potential side-effects to a minimum. Cortisone injections usually work within a few days, and the effects can last up to several weeks.

Today is suppose to be another nice sunny, cold day so I am of course doing all my laundry and hope it all drys on the line we all know how much I do not like to use the clothes dryer. The of course this afternoon I am going to have to do all the ironing thankfully I don't iron a lot of things mostly Tim's work shirts and trousers along  with tea towels and pillow cases. Which is why I like to fold the clothes as they come off the line or out of the dryer, also why if I use the dryer I like to get the clothes out as soon as it is finish to stop them needing to be ironed.

My mum on the other hand irons a blood lot and is often saying that she has a mountain of ironing to be done and she often will not fold her clothes as she takes them off the line or out of the dryer. Making more work for herself in my opinion.

My sister Sue is still living mostly with mum and dad but is still looking for her own place she has to look at places that are under $200 a week more like $180-190 a week as the estate agents have told her they can't lease to her over that as by law they can't take more them 50% of her income in rent. The are not a lot of places around for between $180-190 a week. She also needs to get a place that will not leave her feeling cut off from the rest of the family as that will only make her depression worse and of course she has no car so it has to be on a bus route or in walking distance. Sue doesn't work she is getting by on the dole and as far as I know she is looking for work but without any luck, also I think she may be a bit picky when it comes to what type of work she will do. I do not think she wants to work as a cleaner but hell she is 43 has bugga all experience ok she has more them me but still pretty much bugga all so there is not a lot of jobs out there for a middle aged woman with bugga all experience other then jobs like cleaner.

My sister Jeannie has been working as a cleaner and is just happy to have the work, it may not be a glamorous job but it has pay cheque and that is the important thing.

Now did you know that here down under it is often cheaper to replace one's printer then it is to buy replacement ink, this we have done a few times, so you have to be careful what brand of printer you buy and know if you can get cheap ink for it before buying it.

Police spotted a calendar and newspaper from 2004 in the apartment..............How does one lay dead for so long unnoticed............what the hell.............

It started out as Jo-Anne Mother & Nana but I changed it a few years back to Jo-Anne's Ramblings as it sounded more like me than the old name even though I am a mother and nana I a do tend to ramble on a bit

Sickness but solidering on

Good morning everyone, how are you all? I am all stuffed up in the head with body aches and a slight headache and this is the second day I have felt like this but being mum I just suck it up and solider on.

Yesterday as rotten as I felt and feeling oh so tired and like I needed a nap what did I do I sucked it up and went and met mum at the xray place to be with her while she had her heal xrayed and an ultrasound done of it. Then we went over to the John Hunter (hospital) for her appointment to get the results of all the tests done on her kidneys, well the test showed nothing sinister the doctor has asked for a follow up ct scan to be done in January and for mum to go back in February and if everything still looks good then they will just chalk up the lumps as something mum has and no further action needed.

Now my sister Sue has been complaining for the last week more or less that she is "so sick" and has been in bed all the time, damn I don't know anyone who sleeps as much as she seems to do. Although she will say that she is often not asleep just sitting up in bed on the computer, however mum has on a number of occasion gone and knocked on her door to speak to her and when she has received no answer has opened the door and found her asleep.

Would I like to be in bed yeah but I don't feel like I have the time to be sick there is so much I either need to do to want to do so as I said I just suck it up and deal.............I think many women are the same.

Oh yeah mum's xray showed she has a spur on her heal which may be the reason it hurts so much when she is standing or walking. I don't know how they treat a spur I guess I will find out soon, when mum knows she will tell me.

Little Sydney-May is sick she was running a fever of 39°C yesterday so her mum and Mickey took her to the after hours GP, they put her on antibiotics which of course she doesn't want to take. Thankfully this morning her temp is down to 37°C but she still doesn't look or feel well.

My Friday written on Saturday

Ok yesterday I didn't even get to check my emails let alone read any blogs or visit my own blogs so here I am on Saturday morning up before anyone else and have opened my email program so it can download my emails while I sit and write this.  I have 185 emails to go through which I will do latter as in about an hour I want to head up to the shops to do the things I didn't get around to doing yesterday. 

I ended up helping mum do her big monthly shop then I came home and changed my shoes as my feet were killing me, then I headed down to the local supermarket to do my food shopping. By the time I got home I was so tired and worn out after unpacking the grocerys I decided to have a bath before Jessica and Leo arrived it was by this 3.15pm.

Yesterday while out shopping I also helped two old ladies, one needed someone to start her car for her as she said the arthritis in her hands made it difficult to turn the key and the other was looking for a product in the shop and over head her tell the young woman with her what she wanted but the young woman didn't know what she was talking about and was unable to find what she wanted, I was able to go and pick it straight up no problem. It does feel good to be able to help others.

Moving back onto Little Leo he had a really good day at school yesterday and his mum even worked in the canteen which of course he liked although it wasn't till lunch time that he realised she was there.

Let's go back to last night now, I was so tired last night that I eneded up in bed at only 6.45pm yeah that bloody early but I coulndn't keep my eyes open. Which I guess is why I was up early this morning but I don't mind getting up before everyone else it gives me so time to do things in the quiet of the morning before the day gets started if that makes any sense................I am like my mum in the regard she is the same and loves to get up before anyone else in the household.

Oh yeah this morning when I get up I find my reading glasses broken in two split right down the middle, I am sure I can thank Leo for that he is lucky they only cost me $2.50, I will buy another pair when I go out. At the moment I am wearing Tim's glasses. 

Ok I think that is all for this post I am rambled on enough for one post so I will post this and then move onto something else.

Baby Summer

Yesterday while I was at the hospitial having a camera down my throat to look at my gut baby Summer was spending the day with her Aunty Tasha and from what I hear from Kathy she didn't seem to like it as she spent a lot of time crying.

Today she is back with her nanna and as usual I have had little to no problem with her she is watching Judge Judy with me and has had one 1hr nap and one 30 minute nap and we both went to check the post office box and then over to Coles to get some fresh bread.

Kathy has just started her on some Farex only a teaspoon at a time I gave her some this morning with her first bottle and some at lunch time with her second bottle both times she ate it all without any problem.

Next week Kathy has asked if I will swap days with Michael's mum as she can't watch her on the Friday so of course I said I would and yes Friday is my busy day with me going out shopping and everything but I will just take her with me. If need be I will do my food shopping on the Saturday morning instead. 

Maybe she just like being with her nanna...............................lol

Nothing much to day

Why is it that even when I have nothing planned for the day or am having an easy day I am often busy as. Like today I have done nothing much except go over to see nan at the nursing home, can't go tomorrow as I have to go to the hospital to have some procedure done can't tell you what as I can't remember.......lol Anyway I can't have any food after 6am and have to be at the hospital around 2pm so mum said she will pick me up around 1.30pm and drive me over. Hubby will most likely pick me up when I am done as they said I could be there 3hrs or so. 

So I am hoping to get up early and have some breakfast before 6am. 

What else well after going to the nursing home me and mum went to the supermarket to get a few things then home and Kathy and the girls called in after Sydney's swimming lesson and stayed for a couple of hours. 

I have also managed to do the ironing all this while reading blogs about 50 today and I haven't even got to my own blog but I will soon.  I found my computer running slow so while I waited for pages to load I would get up and iron.

Hubby had the tax guy come over to do his tax return he doesn't get anything back, well he does but he doesn't by that I mean he is still paying off a debt to the tax department so even though he gets a refund it will just be taken off what is oweing thus reducing his debt.

Let's move on to my darling neices Temika and Denni both have been pretty sick recently and both are on antibiodics and both had to have blood tests done as the doctor things they may have Pneumonia.  Also my niece Liarna hasn't been the best she was really sick over the weekend according to her dad. 

On the topic of sick family members Kathy and Michael both have been unwell yesterday and last night.

Look What I Got

Look what I got................yeah that's right a new mobile phone, on Friday afternoon Tim and I went and upgraded my phone as I was really sick of the old phone. I would go to answer a call and it would hang up on the caller or it would freeze lots which was also very annoying.

I also had to get a new sim card as the old one was stuck in the old phone and there was no way to get it out without breaking it. 

Now I just have to set the ring tone to one I like and get use to using it oh and yeah I want to take some new photos with it to have on the phone. The old phone saved all the photos to the phone as it didn't take an sd card.

Anyway I have a new toy to play with and learn about.

Damn have I been busy

What a couple of days I have had on Thursday I started to read some blogs got around to about 24 blogs but then Summer was taking up a lot of my time and Leo was here and he wanted to use the computer so I let him while I dealt with Summer and as it turned out I just didn't have either the time of feeling to get back to it. 

Then yesterday being Friday meant I just didn't have the time I was so busy yesterday, in the morning I took Leo with me to Charlie for breakfast with the family he loved seeing everyone. When he saw my mum & dad walking up he runs up to them and mum goes to give him a hug but he ran straight past her to dad.  

He was well behaved ate all his breakfast and had some fun with Dawson then after breakfast we went to Big W so I could make layby payments and while we were there we saw dad again but didn't stop just kept on walking after say hi, however as we were leaving the store Leo suddnely said " I forgot to say bye to him" I ask who and he says "poppy" he wanted to go back and find him to say goodbye to him but I said no we were not going back looking for him.

While we were in Target his mum arrived with his medication because silly nanna for got to take his medication with her, anyway we crashed his tablet on a spoon added a little water and he took it no problem. 

So all in all he was a good boy, then yesterday afternoon we had Blain here, he stayed the night. Although with Blain the first thing he says when he wakes up is "can you take me home now" which I did so now I am home here for the day alone till this afternoon when I am going to go over to Kathy's and watch her girls while her and Michael go to his mums 60th. 

I was going to watch them here but Kathy would prefer me to watch them at her place so I will go there, it is only for a few hours and it will be easier for her. 

So this moring I check my emails and I have a total of 180 unread emails that I will have to go through.

This morning I was going to go and have my back xray done, but I haven't found an open place well there is one place at Cardiff that is open but I do not want to go there so I think I will leave it till Monday morning to have it done.

What a day I have had this morning I went to Charlie and made another layby for Jessica at Target, it was another Christmas toy layby and while I was at it I also made a layby for myself of some toys. 

After that I went over to the doctors to see my GP about my back and the constant nausea feeling I have, by the time I got there I could barely walk. Anyway she has sent me for an xray of my back which I will have in the morning and gave me a script of Maxolon to  help with the nausea but did she give me a repeat on the script no.................that is annoying oh well.
Anyway when I got home I started the ironing, had to iron hubby a work shirt but in the end only managed to iron two shirts because Kathy turned up with her girls and I don't like having a hot iron with a toddler around. 

Well Kathy tells me she ran into my parents when she was at the doctors surgery this morning, she had to go and get the results of Summer's hip ultrasound which was normal no problem was found. Anyway she tells me that while she was there she watched my niece Liarna while nanna & pop where in with the doctor, then she went back to nans place and was prepared to stay and watch Liarna while mum took dad to have a brain scan done. However my sister in-law Leigh turned up and took Liarna home with her. 

Now you are wondering why dad had to have a brain scan well it seems that on Sunday afternoon he had a small (mini) stroke, of course he didn't go to the hospital when it happened.  He hates hospitals and doctors and he sees a lot of doctors since the lung cancer in 2009.
Ok I wrote this yesterday but for some reason I forgot to post it...............

So here I am on Tuesday morning finishing it and posting it. 

This morning I went to have my back xray but when I get to  the xray place they are closed, there was a sign on the door saying they were closed due to unforeseen circumstances. How annoying, I will ring them this afternoon or in the morning and see what is the go is.........

Yesterday was a bloody busy day, far busier then my usual Saturday so busy in fact that I didn't write a post and only managed to read 22 blogs.

Now you may be wondering what I was doing well in the morning I went to Charilie to help mum make a Christmas layby of toys for her grandchildren. I also picked a few more things for my grandchildren and made another layby myself.

Then I come home have lunch and then washed the dogs so I could take them to Jessica's house, remember they are both her dogs and I no longer wanted them here. I am so fed up with taking care of them and the fact that I didn't want either of them doesn't help. So they have been bathed and taken to Jessica's house.

However, that was not as easy as it sounds, well the bathing them bit was I had no trouble with that, but when it came times to get them into the car to take them to Jessica's house. Dino ran off as soon as I opened the door and I had to get one of the neighbours grandchildren to help me catch him, all in all it took me 10minutes to catch him and but him in the car.

When I got to Jessica's she had both Leo and Blain there along with Kelli and Daemon, Kelli and the boys were staying the night and the boys were so excited to see the dogs. Leo said oh Dino I have missed you.............he sounded so cute.........

Today I went out and cleaned up the dog shit in the yard ok I only did about 70% of it as there was a lot due to all the wet weather we have had recently. Now I want Tim to get in and help me clean up the yard get rid of some crap that is out there along with all the old drink cans he has been collecting to cash in.

Favourite Waste Of Time

Ok I will tell you what it is, I love to do......................drum roll..................

Yeah that's right nothing I like to sit in the quiet and do nothing, not read, not watch tv, not blog..............nothing................however that doesn't happen very often I am usually to busy to do nothing. 

My second best thing to do is to sit and watch tv while doing nothing else, because let's be honest here I spend most of my tv watching either blogging, doing housework, cooking, taking care of babies, reading or doing puzzles. So to just sit and watch tv is nice also, although most of the time while I am just sitting I end up thinking about stuff that need to be done. So up I get and stuff I do....................

Fears

When is a fear a phobia?  

Do you have a phobia or fear?

My youngest daughter suffers from odontophobia or dentophiba both are the same thing a fear of the dentist she has not been to a dentist in many years the last time she went they made her wait so long in the waiting room she had a mini breakdown and ended up in tears.

Me I am scared of open heights, I wouldn’t say I have Acrophobia since I am not scared of all heights only open heights, but I think it is pretty common to have a fear of open heights since who wants to fall……….lol

Now what gets me is when I hear people say to get over a fear you must face your fear…………..talk about stupid……..if you are afraid of dying do you have to die to get over the fear I don’t think that will work somehow since once you are dead you more or less stay dead…………………lol

Some fears may be overcome if you face them like Jessica’s fear of the dentist if she went she may be able to overcome it but then maybe not. 

I use to have anxiety attacks when I was faced with going somewhere new or meeting new people, however as I have gotten older that has lessened.
