Music or No Music Which Do You Prefer............

What type of music do you like? Me I like most music except classical which for the most part just doesn't move me and yes I know many people won't agee but it is what it is.......

I love country music but it is not the only type of music I love I will listen to pop and to rock and even to rap. I think music is just so important in life music can make us feel so many things mostly it makes me feel alive. Listening to music has always been a passion of mine, however, I have found in the last year or so that when I am in the car driveing I no longer want the radio on or even a cd playin I don't know why that is I just find it annoying.........

I use to have music playing all the time and now I don't in some ways it feels wrong but it can't be forced maybe I will drift back into listening to musice but for now that is not the case.

  1. I used to listen to music all the time from the age of about ten. But then I lived with a guy who had his own country band and heard nothing else for seven years. After that, I basically listened to oldies on the car radio and new age stuff at home for the last couple decades...so I am waaaay out of the music loop. ;)

  2. I love listening to my ipod while I am cleaning or doing dishes. It helps me keep motivated. But I absolutely hate when music in movies is so loud that you can hardly hear the dialogue!
    As always,...Good post!

  5. I love most music although the techno dance stuff gives me a headache (showing my age I guess)

  6. I used to listen to a lot of music but as the years go on, I hardly listen to any. This is partly due to having cars where the stereo doesn't set radio stations so I have to search for it each time I get in the car which if I'm not going far is pointless. Then over the years my older brother works nights so I feel guilty having music playing.

    1. Yes I think for me the big change with my listening to music at home was when Tim started working nights and sleeping during the day.....

  7. i ADORE music, everything from tina turner to depeche mode, scissor sisters, and dolly parton. i also LOVE "native" music, flutes, chants, even didgeridoos lol! i almost always have something on in the background. i actually like tons of stuff from australia too. olivia newton john, jimmy barnes, kylie minogue, etc etc and i have lots of special edition tina turner stuff from there (and all over the world) as much as i love america when it comes to music and movies we are rather bland!

  8. I love music, but I am like you. In the last few years, I have come to really value the restorative powers a few moments of silence can do~

  11. Hi Jo-Anne. I've always got music going on in the car. It's strange that you've suddenly turned against that, isn't it? Like you, I love all sort of music (actually, not rap!), and I am especially fond of the music from the 60's, which was when I was a teenager. Something a bit different from you today!

  12. I like rock, such as The Beatles and Bonjovi. I like a little country (Loretta Lynn and Johnny Cash). But if I play music when I need to concentrate on something else, it gives me a headache. For example, as I write, I want the house to be so quiet that the only thing I hear is the click of doggie toenails on the wood floor.

    Love,
    Janie

  13. Music is a very personal thing. You cannot force it. Music is one of the few things in life that reaches both parts of the brain so it has a profound effect. Listen when you feel like it, and don't listen when you don't feel like it. No right or wrong here... it is what it is. :)

    1. You are right you cannot force it you either feel like listening to it or you don't, I didn't know that it reaches both sides of the brain..........

    1. I know many people love classical music and many people hate rap, for me rap grew on me when I had teenagers in the car listening to it all the time....

  16. I love all music, even classical. Different music at different times moves me in different ways. I understand your conundrum about turning of the sounds, be it music or other. For me, the sound of quiet is a music all in it's own and allows our mind to slow, rest and then wonder... Just my thoughts. :)
