For me love is when you realise that if someone or something was not in your life then there would be a void in your life, an empty feeling that no amount of material objects will fill.
This is how I know that I have always loved my family even when I didn't like the way some members of it where acting at certain times. I know that if they where gone and I could never see them again then I would feel empty inside.
I do think that most people do not know what unconditional love is until they become a parent, as generally speaking a parent will love their child no matter what and that is unconditional love.
Someone once told me there is no such thing as unconditional love. I disagree. I love my kids unconditionally. I do not like the things they do at times but I love them.

ReplyDeleteYeah there are times when we do not like some of the things our children do but it doesn't stop us loving them.
I so agree with you Jo-Anne. The love we have for our children (and grandchildren!) is definitely unconditional. My family mean everything to me.
