Good Morning how do you feel about personalised stuff.......................tell me tell me do

Good morning everyone, yes I am up and dressed and ready to face the day at a decent hour 7am it is as I sit and write this, this morning.

Now what to write about, of course last night as I laid in bed trying to go to sleep I composed a whole post in my head and this morning I don't remember it.................doesn't that just suck.

Anyway, yesterday I mentioned that I had created personalised calendars and Christmas cards, so now I am asking are you a big card giver, you know until a few years ago I thought cards to be a waste of money and couldn't see the point in giving or receiving them. Now I have 8 birthday cards and 1 Christmas card hanging on my wall above my computer desk. I love to give and receive cards and spend time picking out nice ones. I also like to do personalised ones at Christmas for not only me to send out but I do them now for my sister Sandra and my parents and this year I did them for Kathy as well.

I have also done a personalised calendar for Kathy and my parents and myself, but the do take a lot of time adding all the birthdays and photos and such. As time consuming as they are I do enjoy doing them, if I didn't I wouldn't bother right.

Would you like to receive a personalised card from a love one and how about a calendar do you think you would like a calendar with photos of your family and loved ones and the birthdays all ready added so you can see what ones are coming up during the month.

I have become known in the family as the one who does personalised gifts and I think I like that.

I think that's nice. I have a nephew whose wife does a calendar for all of us with photos of their children. I love it when I receive a card from an artist friend who has painted the card herself. I have a number of hand-made cards on my mantel.

Love,
Janie

I think to family they are nice as we tend to take photos these days but not print them off or do anything with them. It means you have something to hold and look at from time to time as well as remember the good times. Also if you have family that live far away and don't se often its nice to get that personal touch. To maybe someone you don't know as well it won't have the same sentiment.

Hi Jo-Anne. It sounds lovely, the personalized cards and calendars that you have made for your family. I think if something has been done with love like that, it really does mean so much more to us. Like you, I am a great card giver, for whatever occasion, or to just let people know that I am thinking of them. When I visit nice little shops, I'm always looking out for nice cards. Good post today!

I also love hand made cards they are so special to think someone took the time to create it themselves.

Yes I get that I wouldn't send a personalised (photo) card to a pen pal but to my family members I don't see that often there the ones who get the photo card.

Why thank you I am glad you liked the post, my family do seem to like the effort I put into the cards and calendars.

I like personalized gifts because it makes me know the other person put time into the project. :-)

I would love someone to do a calendar that included everyone's birthday. My brother knows everyone's important dates, but I am always forgetting them. I think that is a great gift.

I would love to get anything personalized as it would tell me someone thought enough of me to do that. I think it's wonderful that you do such thoughtful things for your loved ones! Great post.

I agree and I do put in a lot of time doing them

The ones I did yesterday I also could add a small photo to the date so it said the person's name and has a small photo of the person as well

I love doing them even though they are time consuming both calendars are different as well

Update on mum

After getting up this morning and throwing a load of washing on to wash I get a phone call from Sandra just as I was thinking of ringing...
