Good afternoon all it is nice and wet
here this afternoon but thankfully I managed to get all the laundry
done and dried before I had to leave to go and get Leo from school.
Thankfully it didn't cost as much to get the car fixed, although this
morning it stored on me taking Leo to school but I had no problem
with it this afternoon.
While I was watching the telly
something was said that I thought I would use a the topic for this
post then my daughter rang and now I have forgotten what it was and
it is on free to air TV so I can't rewind and see what it was.
Yesterday Kelli mentioned that she was
sick and that she didn't feel like going anywhere she just wanted to
stay home, and this is now home to her, this made me feel good.
After having her here for so long I have gotten use to her being here
and I will miss her when they leave, but I do not think that will be
any time soon as it is just so hard for her to find a place and I can
imagine how dishearten she gets, how often can a person be knocked
back without it affecting them.
Oh yeah when I was at the diabetic
class yesterday one of the other women came up and asked if I was
Jo-Anne Jenkins, I said I use to be, turns out she lived across the
road from us when we lived in Flame street, her daughter and my
sister Jeannie where best friends. She asked me how my parents are
and how many grandchildren they have, I let her know that they have
17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and that we get together
every week. She thought it was great that we are all still so close.
I just gave Daemon his first taste of
Scotch he screwed his face up, I only dipped my finger in and let him
smell it and he tasted it, at first he wasn't sure what to make of
it...........so no one have a go at me it isn't like I poured him a
drink of scotch.
Nice to hear about the pleasant weather free from snow. Good your car didn't want too much of money to spend.
ReplyDeleteNice to hear about your get-together every week end.
Enjoy the day!!
Yes the car is all good now today was lovely nice and sunny
DeleteIt's good that Kelly considers your house her home. You are always so hospitable to everyone~
ReplyDeleteThank you I am glad she is comfortable here now
DeleteDear Jo-Anne, I apologize for not reading your blog for so long. I had the URL for a specific posting of yours, not the blog and so I kept coming back to an October posting and I thought you were taking time off. I hope all is well. Peace.
ReplyDeleteThat is ok, I don't take time off from blogging even when I went overseas I still blogged most days
DeleteShoot, all us kids tasted beer by then... that was dad's teething medicine!
ReplyDeleteYeah I think a lot of us have tasted a bit of grog by the time we were two never hurt anyone
DeleteI was given tastes of alcohol when I was growing up. I don't think it hurt me any, and I don't drink much. It's so nice that you could say you all get together every week.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Sometimes a child needs a taste to know they don't like it, yes I got the impression that she didn't get together with her family very often
DeleteThe first time I ever drank scotch was at a Robert Burns celebration when I was stationed with the Navy in Iceland. A visiting Scottish squadron brought the haggis and, of course, the scotch. I absolutely abhorred the stuff my first drink. Then, I had another. Then another.
ReplyDeleteI love me some wee scotch now, laddy.
I drink it pretty weak but the more I drink the strong the drink gets, I like my scotch and my southern comfort
DeleteWhen I was a baby, my folks, on occasion put beer in bottle and give it to me at night. This was recommended by some German doctor. When I was a little girl, when my dad would open a can of beer, I'd be there! I still love beer.
ReplyDeleteDoctors now days would have a cow if one recommended such a thing
