MORE FACTS

Good morning world, going to be a long ass day for me as I have my appointment with the specialist in Sydney today. Well it is facts day so here we go.

In the late 19th century, millions of human mummies were used as fuel for locomotive trains in Egypt where wood and coal was, scarce, but mummies were plentiful.............WTH

The expression “long in the tooth” meaning “old” was originally used to describe horses. As horses age their gums recede, giving the impression that their teeth are growing. The longer the teeth looked the older the horse.

The winter of 1932 was so cold that Niagara Falls froze solid.

The American volcano Mount St Helens was, 1,313 feet shorter after erupting in 1980

Mountains are formed by a process called ontogeny

90,000,000 tons of paper are used each year in America.

  1. Fact: I'm hoping your appointment is helpful, and glad I didn't live in Egypt back then. Now, either.

  5. Given the time/date change, your appointment would be long over by now. I certainly hope it went well, have my fingers crossed for you.

Thanks for the facts! I knew Niagara Falls froze once, but didn't know the year. It froze in 2014 too, with the polar vortex that year. Shiver. (I live a handful of hours east of that area of the province and I've blocked the winter from my memory...as I do with every winter. LOL.)

As for burning the mummies....oh, my gosh, that's so horrifying on so many levels. Including from an archeological point of view. :-(

  7. I remember when Mt St Helens erupted. I was pregnant with Foodie.

That is so freaky about burning mummies in Egypt. I would have thought they honored their dead.

Okay so how did your appointment go?
