Good morning all here we are at another extreme creatures post and today it is the Coconut Crab.
This crab is bloody big at 40cm's in length and up to 4 kilos in weight. They can live up to 60 years.
It gets its name from the coconuts it likes to eat, using claws to strip away the outside of the coconut and then break it open.
It is also strong enough to break your arm.
It is the largest land crab in Australia.
My goodness I'm pleased I haven't come across one.
ReplyDeleteIs that a real live one trying to break into a trash can!?
ReplyDeleteI think I can say the only way I'd want to meet him is on a plate...
ReplyDeleteIt's in Australia. I'm in the United States. I'm good with that.
ReplyDeleteI googled and it seems we have it here in Malaysia too but I have not seen one before.
