The Love of my Life is having a birthday, so Happy Birthday Tim

Today is the birthday of a wonderful man my husband and the love of my life Tim, he is now 53yrs old and has been with me for 30.5 of those years.

Tim is a bus driver and has been for a while now, before that he was a truck driver and before that he drove high cars and before that he was a canvas machinist and I can tell you that he was a bloody good canvas machinist but after doing it for over 10 years he was fed up and wanted a change.

So he started driving hire cars but after about 4 years wanted to do something different so he started driving buses which he did for a while then he moved onto trucks for about 4 years then went back to driving buses.

When I meet him he said he would love to work till he was 70, but by the time he turned 50 he had decided he had just about had enough and now he is looking forward to retiring and now of course he may not be able to retire till he is 70 if the changes come in.

Tim is the second oldest of 5 children he has 3 brothers and 1 sister and 2 half sisters and 1 half brother but he is not close to his siblings. His mum passed away a few years back and his step father has also passed away but his father is still alive and kicking but he doesn't see or talk to him and hasn't done so for a long time.

Tim is also the father of 3 daughters, Kathy-Lee, Natasha & Jessica and the grandfather of 4, Blain, Leo, Sydney-May & Summer. His family means everything to him and loves to spend time with his children and grandchildren.

I can honestly say I am still in love with him after 30.5yres together he is the man I want to grow old with. Even if he is a bloody hard man to buy for I did manage to get him a couple of things which I think he liked.

  6. Dearest Jo-Anne,
Accept a belated Happy Birthday to your dear husband Tim! He sounds definitely like a keeper and he's a decent and hard working guy and family man. As for family contacts, let me tell you that we've gone back and forth to The Netherlands 63 times in 30 years and that's a lot of money; a bloody lot of money. We did it mainly for my Parents but when they're no longer alive I guess my tickets will not show the same itinerary anymore. Sure we have dear friends where we've stayed for the last couple of years when visiting, and they come to the USA and stay with us; closed wallet like that. But my six siblings did not even invite us for a cup of coffee last time we were over... That's their problem; not mine. We have great friends that have adopted us as their family. They're there when you need them, when you're rushed to the hospital on the ambulance; they're the first to stand at your bedside and to let you know they're there for you. When I got paralyzed and the same year when Pieter had quadruple bypasses. NONE of my family ever called. My best friend was here with her husband and that was very comforting. But it taught me an awful lot about my family. They ostracice me; that's fine and that's their choice. We're quite happy here and we will live our life with our friends and loved ones and no more wasting of phone calls, letters, gifts or whatsoever. Sad to say so but that's a fact. Maybe the're just jealous that we each found our soulmate and also for having great friends for over 40 or 30, 25 years. Loyalty is also showing something about character I guess. So give your Tim a tight hug and stay together through thick and thin. There might be things coming our way as we age but we manage that too. Yes, we both don't need a commercial Valentine once a year; we live it for 365 years 30+ years!
    Hugs,
    Mariette
