So here we are at
Monday, I have been out this morning doing some things for mum and
going to the chemist to pick up medications that I need for the week.
I had a baked lunch
here yesterday with Kathy, Jessica and Summer and Leo and of course
Tim who was off.
Anyway since it is
Monday it is did you know day
Californian
Frank Epperson invented the ice lolly or lollypop in 1905, when he
was 11 years old. He left a glass of soda or pop and a stirrer
outside overnight and in the morning discovered them frozen together.
A
pound of crisps cost about 200 time more than a pound of potatoes
We call them popsicles and chips, but I knew exactly what you meant. I didn't know either of the facts, though. Now I have more trivia to add to my brain bank :)
ReplyDeleteWe call them ice blocks and chips but I knew what was meant too, I like to enlighten people to useless facts
DeletePopsicles and french fries over here. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhatever we call them still a wow factor
DeleteAnd made a fortune!
ReplyDeleteYeah I bet he did
DeleteAnd thanks for reminding me to get with the chemis... er, the pharmacy, and get some meds ordered!
ReplyDeleteChemist or pharmacy doesn't matter what we call the place we get our meds from just that we can
DeleteI didn't know either one of your facts. Very interesting.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Well now you do but did you need to know these facts, I doubt it
DeletePerhaps the day will come along when someone says to me, I will give you a million dollars if you can tell me . . . and the question will be about one of your facts. Then I'll share the million dollars with you.
DeleteThanks for the sharing the facts. I would know if you didn't share.
ReplyDeleteI never knew that about the origins of the lollypop. Learned something new today!
ReplyDeleteMe either and me too
DeleteYes but have you ever had a French fry lollipop? Just being silly:)
ReplyDeleteSilly is good
