Bad behaviour

Seems Aussie kids are some of the worst behaved in the western world, teachers are complaining that they are unable to discipline and control children there is a call for parents to discipline children and I have to agree I often see some terrible behaved children but a big part of the problem is how do parents and teachers discipline you are not allowed to spank, you cannot yell at them, in fact some so called expects say you should sit the child down and calmly tell them what they are doing wrong and send them to a time out for a few minutes. Teachers have it harder in my opinion the list of all they can't do in way of discipline is so damn long they have no idea what to do. Thanks to the do-gooders of the world, kids these days have no respect and no consequences for their hideous behaviour. Parents need to parent and stop trying to be "friends" with their kids.

Ok Justin Bieber is in the news again after he got caught giving a mouth full of abuse to someone who yelled out to him to say something to his fans while he was chillin in what was suppose to be a secluded location. His response was a mouth full of foul language and to give the finger to the person not good, yeah I get he wants his space and privacy but he is a public figure and these things happen he should have just turned his back and said and did nothing, not good for his young fans to see him carry on in such a manner.

Leo is acting crazy by laying behind me while I sit here typing, he said to tell you all I am his swag nanna and you cannot have me.

I have now returned after taking Leo to school, it is a cool wet day outside this morning.

In Queensland a dad is annoyed that the parents with prams parking signs show a woman with a baby not a man and a woman and mentioned how a lot of men get strange looks when they take their child into a parents room to take them to the toilet or change their nappy as if this is something only women can do, I say way to go, women want men to be more involved but when they try the get weird looks as if they are doing something wrong.

I forgot to mention that yesterday was my niece Kelli's birthday she is now I think about 23, I call her my sweetheart this started a few years back when her and Daemon (her son) lived here with me and Tim, Daemon was only 2 at the time and now he is 5 and going to school. Kelli is my sister Sue's youngest child.

Well that is all for today’s post.

  1. We've got the same problems here with kids. But the parents don't see it. They think their little darlings are just perfect. Riiiight. When I taught, it was obvious to me that they are indeed NOT perfect. That Leo is so funny! :)

    1. I have always known my girls are not perfect or little angels but also know there are worse kids around but then we spanked our girls when needed not with an object just my hand and only a firm smack on the bum or hand or in the case of Kathy her leg as we would send her to her room and she would kick the wall. A so called expert told me she would only do it for a minute or so, so I tired that she kicked a hole in the wall so I went back to going in and smacking her legs when she would kick the wall.

  2. Discipline has gone out the window with many parents and their children. Can't blame the children as they know no different.
Justin - now he wants a good spanking! Spoilt brat.
    LEo is a 'rummin'.

    1. I know so many say you shouldn't ever smack a child but there is a different between a firm smack on the bum with your hand and abuse by hitting with objects over and over.

Leo is running around outside I told him not to get wet and what does he say, its ok nanna I will not melt.

  3. Heidi-ho, dear Jo-Anne!

I don't exactly know what it means to be a swag nanna, but I have a feeling it's pretty cool. :)

Have you ever watched the Australian TV miniseries The Slap? The drama unfolds after an adult slaps an unruly child at a family gathering. It is an excellent series and I urge to you watch it if you haven't already. Disrespectful children are a big problem stateside, too, and I agree with you that it is because too many parents want to be best buds with their kids and let them get away with murder.

    Happy b-day to niece Kelli!

Enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend Jo-Anne!

    1. I don't know what a swag nanna is but he says I am one and it is a good thing.

I have never watched The Slap but have seen the adds for it when it was one here last year.

    1. Yeah Justin now says it was all a joke in my opinion because of the backlash from his behaviour

  5. We also have the same problem here with kids. Young parents seem to be too lenient with their young kids and some are so afraid of their kids' tantrums. Looks like many young parents are bowing to their kids' whims and fancies. Teachers wouldn't dare discipline these kids because they themselves may ended up being punished for disciplining somebody's spoil child.

    1. You are so spot on the teachers and damned if they do and damned if they don't and parents have to learn you cannot be your young child's friend and their parent.

  6. That's funny, you swag nanna you.

I don't go around children much anymore, after I have spent 30 years combined, being a daycare provider and a nanny. Not to mention, raising my own. The discipline issue, was getting increasingly harder the longer I was in that profession. So I agree with you.

    1. I don't know what a swag nanna is but is is a good thing. I could see the generations of undisciplined children being a problem years ago those children grew up to be young adults who don't want or can hold down a job because they think they can get away with anything only to find they can't when they tried working for someone

  7. Hey, swag nanna! I couldn't agree with you anymore on discipline. Explains why our governments are the way they are too.

  8. I think that kids need to be taught respect, but there has to be continuity between the home and the school.
