todays post is some random facts about the date.
The independence
vote happened on the 2 July, not the 4th. The Continental
Congress voted for independence on 2 July 1776, but the Declaration of
Independence was formally adopted on 4 July, which became the famous
date.

Adams thought Americans were celebrating on the wrong day. He believed the 2
July should be the big national holiday and reportedly refused some 4 July
celebrations because of it.
