RED KANGAROO

 

Hello Tuesday, hello world, this Tuesday we are looking at the good old red kangaroo.

A red kangaroo can hop 13 metres in one jump that is as long as some buses. A kangaroo has very strong and powerful legs that act like springs and a big tail which helps them balance. When they get going they can move bloody fast.

Red kangaroos are the largest species of kangaroo. Often found on the open plains of inland Australia and can live on very little water. Males appear maroon with a white face and belly in colour. Females are bluish grey in colour and are smaller and faster than the males.

Male Red Kangaroos mature at about 2 years of age, and females when they are from 15 to 20 months old. Red Kangaroos can live for up to 20 years in the wild.

They have a gestation period of just 33days after born they spend 1yr in the mothers pouch. A mother kangaroo can produce milk of two different types to feed different babies at the same time. One that has emerged from the pouch but is still nursing and a newborn.

Females are called a doe, flyer, jill or roo, males are bucks, boomer, a jack or old man.

They cannot walk/jump backwards.

Good morning all here we are at another Monday so here are some facts.

Two hundred years ago pregnant women in France were told to look at nice things in order to have pretty babies.

They were also expected to dwell on lovely thoughts and to read slushy books with happy endings. Also to avoid looking at bears and other zoo animals at all costs.

In the 1600's a hospital in Louvain, France they refused to hire ugly doctors just in case it caused an ugly baby.

In the 1600's anyone in Turkey caught drinking coffee was condemned to death by law.

Once in China the Beijing Duck Restaurant could seat 9,000 people at one time.

WEEK 19 OF 2022

MOTHER'S DAY 2ND WITHOUT MUM

What a stinking time I had yesterday arvo and up to 7.45pm when I was finally able to settle down enough to go to sleep. I tried listening to my book which I did but in restless couldn't stay still way. I manged in the end to sleep till 4am when I got up to pee and then I settle down till 6.15 when I got up for the day. Tim was very frustrated when I couldn't settle yesterday, he ended up yelling that he didn't know what I wanted, I snapped back how did he think I felt.

Had to call Tasha down to apply Deep Heat into my knee and change my pants.

Got a lovely Mother's Day text from Kelli and Dave.

At 1.10pm Kathy rang to see how my day has been, while I was on the phone to her, Tash & Jess turned up with Mother's Day gifts a large tray of danishes and beautiful grey weighted throw rug which I love.

Had a damn good night settled without issue and woke at 3.40am feeling unwell so I got up and had some dry crackers followed by the cheese that went with them and went back to bed till 6.10am.

I was still having my morning wash when Kathy rang, Tasha got tired of waiting so she went for her walk and was just returning home when I rang her.

Saw Kelli and Freya while they were here seeing Jess and received a nice gift for Mother's Day.

Very unsettled this afternoon hope I am able to settled at bedtime.

Another decent sleep awake at 4.30am after a good 8hrs sleep. Managed to dose on and off till 5.20am.

Went to print yesterday's diary entry and got a damn paper jam took me 15 minutes to clear it enough so it prints, still a little bit of paper jammed but it printed so I am happy.

A wet day, it started to bucket down at 7.50am so I wasn't able to go up with Leo.

Had a house inspection didn't know it was happening expect the letter is still in the letter box Tasha hasn't checked.

Had a pretty good night but have been awake since 4.20 and up since 4.45am as my body was shaking a bloody lot and I felt more or less awake.

Another wet start to the day so no going up with Leo.

Started writing a letter to a pen pal, I now have a small pile to answer.

Not a good afternoon.

Had a so so nights sleep and was awake at 4.30 again. Another wet day.

Had a message on FB from a pen friend letting me know another pen friend had a heart attack a week ago and was in hospital in a coma for a bit but is awake now but she has no short term memory at this stage. I have been writing to her for 20 odd years.

Sandy called in this afternoon just to see me and it was great seeing her.

Wrote a few letters still more to do.

Been up since 5am awake since 4.10am and have to say after a couple of weeks with no sweating it is back, which is why I found it difficult to stay in bed.

Kathy arrived at 10.30 and gave me a shower and dressed me to go out for lunch at the Eastern Tiger with her and Summer as well as Tasha. Jessica had to work and Leo didn't want to come.

Lunch was good but I needed help to cut my food and to go to the toilet.

SUGAR GLIDER

 

Have you head of the Sugar Glider well that is this weeks extreme creature.

It is an adorable little animal that lives in trees in forests across Australia. It has a very clever way of getting around from tree to tree instead of climbing it glides.

It has a special furry membrane, like a cloak which is attached to its wrists and ankles. When it wants to glide it launches itself from a tree branch, spreads its arms and legs out wide and floats through the air using its big tail to steer. It can glide up to 100 metres.

The sugar glider is a small, omnivorous, arboreal, and nocturnal gliding possum belonging to the marsupial infraclass. The common name refers to its predilection for sugary foods such as sap and nectar and its ability to glide through the air, much like a flying squirrel.

WEEK 18 OF 2022

 

Had a rough start to the night couldn't settle for ages only dozing on and off for hours. I was rightly pissed off with Tim and his “just settle down will you” attitude.

Kathy arrived around 10.30 on her own. Sydney-May is at a friends and Summer is at home with her dad.

She gave me and shave a shower and dressed me in what I will wear tomorrow, which I will sleep in.

Saw Kelli and Issy this afternoon along with Jess after Kel dropped off Blain. Kelli put me to bed.

Start of a new week and as of yesterday afternoon Leo isn't going to school due to his driver having Covid and no one to take over the run. It may change in the next couple of hours, we will see. It didn't change.

Jess took Leo to EB Games to spend the $150 he had in gift cards.

I had a good day managed to stay out of bed for an extra hour before going and listening to my book.

It is Tuesday and I had a good nights sleep waking at 5.15 this morning.

Leo really wants to go to school so Papa is going to drive him and Tasha will pick him up this arvo.

Tasha didn't feel like she had the time to take me to optometrist so I said ok you call and let them know but she didn't I got a text from him saying I missed my appointment. Tim rang and told them I was unwell and apologised.

Had another good night although it took me a couple of hours to settle down, once I did I slept for 9hrs.

No school today there is a teachers strike.

Blain going fishing with his dad this is a first hope he has a good time and enjoys it.

Leo spent some time with Emma so he was happy.

Had a decent enough sleep, been awake since 4.11am woke to pee and couldn't settle after. So got up I had over 6hrs straight sleep.

Leo came down and had some milk before going out somewhere, no idea where he has gone.

Turns out Leo went with his mum while she drives a bunch of old ladies around.

Another good night woke around 10.45 to pee and spent 15 minutes talking to Tim before going back to bed and back to sleep.

Leo has school today as his driver should be good to drive him.

Leo's driver forgot about him, when we rang he said he had message saying that Leo wasn't going. Tasha is super pissed as is Jess.

Jess will drive him when she gets home.

Overall a good day.

Had a rough start to last night very unsettled but once I did manage to settle down I slept for between 7-8hrs.

Tim was going to take me out for lunch but Tasha suggested we do it next Saturday when all our girls can go as well, so we are going to do that.

Tim and I drove over to Sandy's place to drop off some things and then we drove past Mum & Dad's old house before running Dave then coming home after Tim going to the chemist.

Kathy and the girls arrived around 1pm and she was in a mood but she did vacuumed and shower me and they gave me a Mother's Day present. A new throw rug to go over my armchair and some hand towels and face washers. Stuff I needed.
