POEM DAY

Forgiveness Is Divine

Patricia A. Fleming©  More By Patricia A. Fleming

Published: July 2018

Some people view forgiveness
As a virtue for the weak.
An act of mercy undeserved,
That serves no useful need.

They stand firmly in their judgment
And won't consider a mistake.
They prefer to hold a senseless grudge
Than accept amends when made.

They feel they have some godly right
To reject and criticize.
They're possessed by righteous anger,
And consumed by pointless pride.

They're focused on how they've been wronged,
And won't be made the fool again.
So they feel they must avenge themselves
By refusing to give in.

They will sacrifice their family,
Or forsake a long-time friend.
Do anything they have to do
To be the winner in the end.

Or perhaps it's that they can't resolve
The depth of all their hurt,
Caused when someone they've trusted,
Left them questioning their worth.

But no matter why the struggle,
Out of pride or out of fear,
Not being able to forgive
Can cause the loss of ones most dear.

Yes, forgiveness is a virtue,
They even say it is divine.
But more than that it sets you free
From what weighs you down inside.

The best way to approach this life
Is to ask forgiveness and to forgive.
There's a balance to this crazy world,
So live and just let live.

LOIN'S MANE JELLYFISH

Good morning all, been up since 4.30am and it is now 9am and time to write about an extreme creatures and this week it is the Lion's Mane Jellyfish.

The Loin's Mane Jellyfish is the largest jellyfish in the world, it's diameter of its body, or bell can be as long as a man and its tentacles can grow to the length of a cricket pitch. Not only is it truly enormous but it glows in the dark. They have a lifespan of only 12 months.

Not only do they have a nasty and painful sting but they can also sting after death.

Lacking brains, blood, or even hearts, jellyfish are pretty simple critters. They are composed of three layers: an outer layer, called the epidermis; a middle layer made of a thick, elastic, jelly-like substance called mesoglea; and an inner layer, called the gastrodermis.

Hello all, here we are at another week of school holidays which I am sure many parents are pleased about, as home school can be a headache. Since it is Monday that means it is facts day.

WEEK ONE OF SCHOOL HOLIDAYS IS DONE WITH BOY THAT WENT FAST

Saturday and on my own as in no help with breakfast but I have decided to wait till Tim gets up to get dress, so I can have some help.

Getting the shopping delivered this morning as the cost of delivery has come down to $4. It use to be between $9-$15.

Sandra came over to pick up some stuff, it was good to see her. While she was here Leo came down to ask about his eye which was red and causing discomfort Sandy said it looked like pink eye. I reported this to his mum and said he may need to see a Dr.

18-9-21

While getting my breaky and fruit this morning Tasha was unable to find the Blackberries. I said that I didn't see them yesterday morning so she went on about Leo eating them. I thought she was wrong, turns out she was right. I went and checked Leo's room and the empty container was there.

Wrote 4 letters, so all caught up now only need to print them and of course send them off.

19-9-21

Up at 5am washed & dressed eating breaky and starting my day..

Jess had me ring Smith Street Medical to get an appointment for Leo as his eye is very red and inflamed.

He had appointment and was prescribed cream for his eye.

A very warm day.

20-9-21

Had a decent night but I was also in tears at one point, I am not ashamed to say my bladder control isn't good and I wear what amounts to an adult nappy at night. Last night I got up and and was trying to go to the toilet when I tripped and wet myself. I asked Jess to come and help me but the way she sounded made me cry and told her to leave me alone, which she did. Yes she helped me get changed but I felt I should have asked Tasha.

Of course when I told Tasha this morning she was ropeable.

Tasha posted a rant about it on our family messages page.

I feel bad for starting a bitch fight between Tash & Jess.

Other then that it has been a ok day cold but dry.

21-9-21

A new day, I slept well more or less awake at 4.10 up at 4.50am shaking bad. In fact around 1am Tim came into the bedroom for something and I opened my eyes and he asked if I was cold as it looked like I was shivering but no I wasn't cold I was just shaking.

We have been married 37yrs today.

Made Dr appointment to chat about the OT but then decided after re-reading her email that I didn't feel comfortable with her so didn't talk to the doc about that, instead I just asked for scripts. I will try another OT.

22-9-21

Up, washed and dressed for the day by 5.15am. Tasha looks worn out she still not sleeping well.

At least Tasha & Jess are ok.

Tash picked up new printer and set it up for me, although when she tried to set up the wireless part it wouldn't work and she got frustrated and left.

I tried it out and it worked fine. The last printer also had wireless option but I wasn't able to get it to work either.

23-9-21

Up washed and dressed ready for the day. Tasha managed a good nights sleep 8hrs is good.

Saw Kelli and received a great hug, she told me the trouble they are having trying to find a new place to rent, they have to move as the owner wants the house back. They have only 11 days left to find a place and have already applied for dozens of places.

MY THOUGHTS

Good morning everyone welcome to Thursday's rant, today I am talking about mandatory stuff. Here it is becoming mandatory to be vaccinated against Covid 19 in order to keep a job or go out and do stuff. Tim says it's blackmail and yeah I get that but it is the way things are now.

I reckon no one likes being told what to do or feeling like they are being forced into doing something, I know I don't.

However, throughout time many things have suddenly become mandatory. Like the following..............

In 1973 it became mandatory or compulsory to wear a helmet while riding a motorcycle.

It wasn't until 1935 that it became mandatory to have to sit a text to get a driver's license.

It wasn't till 1969 that it became compulsory to register all births and deaths.

In 1880 it was made mandatory that children aged 6-14 to attend school.

I could go but you get my drift, sometimes new rules/laws come about and often we won't like being told that now we have to do such and such but in time we will adjust.

Many of the things people would do before it was mandatory but it had to be made mandatory for the better of all.

Most people don't think twice about getting their children vaccinated, don't say that those vaccines have been around a long time because that wasn't always the case.

Like it or not this is life now.

Dirty Face

Shel SilversteinBy  More Shel Silverstein

Where did you get such a dirty face,
My darling dirty-faced child?
I got it from crawling along in the dirt
And biting two buttons off Jeremy's shirt.
I got it from chewing the roots of a rose
And digging for clams in the yard with my nose.
I got it from peeking into a dark cave
And painting myself like a Navajo brave.
I got it from playing with coal in the bin
And signing my name in cement with my chin.
I got if from rolling around on the rug
And giving the horrible dog a big hug.
I got it from finding a lost silver mine
And eating sweet blackberries right off the vine.
I got it from ice cream and wrestling and tears
And from having more fun than you've had in years.

WANDERING ALBATROSS

Hello world a pretty cool start to the day and it is an extreme creature day. This week we have the wandering albatross.

This bird has the longest wingspan of any bird, more then 3 metres, think the width of a bus. With such long wings this bird can fly like a plane, gliding for hours without flapping its wings once.

As an adult they weight around 7kg are about 135cm's and live for 60+ years.

MORE FACTS FROM ME

Hello Monday, ya going to be a warm one again..............

.

Well ya all want some facts, so here they are..............

You know that Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is called Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in America but did you know that every time the stones name is mentioned in the film the scene had to be filmed twice once for the philosopher's stone and again for the sorcerer's stone

The bagpipe was originally made from the whole skin of a dead sheep.

The poison arrow frog has enough poison in its body to kill about 2,2000 people.

Earth is slowing down in a few million years we won't have need for a leap year because one orbit will be exactly 365 days.

LIFE AT JO-ANNE'S

Slept in to 6am which was a surprise, I was shaking a bloody lot but still managed on my own to wash and dress and got my own breaky.

Other then blogging I am doing nothing today.

A hot day.

20th anniversary of 911

11-9-21

Awake and up at 4.35, in a great deal of pain had to get Tasha to rub Deep Heat into both knees, both upper arms and my right ankle.

My pain has been so so till 1pm when it increased.

Been a hot day, 30 degrees is hot for me. Hot enough to have air con on for a bit to cool down the house.

12-9-21

Had a decent enough night, although just after I went to lay down and listen to my book, the house phone rang but I don't have a house phone in the bedroom so unable to answer it. Then my mobile rang, I tried to answer it but failed. I ended up thinking if it is important whoever was ringing would ring one of the girls.

Turned out it was Sandy who rang, she needed a hug and a shoulder to cry on.

13-9-21

Woke up to rain and cold after warm and hot days.

Tim up and left for work by 7.30am which feels strange as he usually works afternoons.

I went to get the vacuum cleaner and decided to check Leo's room for empty cans and dirty plates, which there were some. I dropped a can which had something in it, so I went to get a dirty towel from the bathroom to clean it up while leaving the bathroom I stepped back lost my balance and fell over. I wasn't able to get up but was able to crawl into the bathroom for the phone to call Tasha. As I wasn't hurt I did briefly consider sitting there till Leo arrive but decided against it.

Tasha then went off her head at me for cleaning up Leo's room as he should do it. I told her not to go off at Leo as he tells me all the time not to clean his room just tell him to do it. Which he did when he arrived.

14-9-21

Up and showered, I have a dentist appointment at 10am.

Denni's 9th birthday sent her a birthday text.

Had appointment and they removed the tooth or what was left of it and it was something of a bitch to get out. Cost was $336.

All right this afternoon till the numbing wore off, then a shit load of pain, paracetamol did jack shit.

Oh well tomorrow should be better.

15-9-21

Had an ok night after I settled down but it took a while, found blood on my shirt so into the wash it went. The pain is there but not bad.

Leo arrived in a happy playful mood, we joked and laughed, and he showed me so YouTube clips that were funny but weird but that's Leo.

16-9-21

Slept in to 5.15am rang Tash straight away and she was walking into the bathroom in a minute. That was a shock as she isn't that quick usually.

Tim let early for work again, last night he arranged to meet up with Kathy & Summer while on a run this arvo. However, late last night Michael got a text saying someone he works with tested positive for Covid so now they have to stay home till both get negative results. So she isn't able to meet her dad today.

Last day of term 3 no school for 2 weeks.

FRUSTRATION

It must be hard not knowing what to when you see me crying and suffering with pain and frustration day in and day out, I know there is nothing anyone can do to relieve the pain.

Sometimes all I need is a hug and to hear you know how hard it I need nothing else.

Sometimes it is hard and depressing to hear someone sigh or see a roll of the eyes when I ask for help of some kind. I know no one means anything bad but it does make me feel like I am being a nuisance or a burden.

Yes it is hard for me struggling all day every day and I get it must be hard for everyone to know this and and not know what to do for the best. I have no answer for that.

If it was just the tremor that would be bad enough but it's everything else, like the pain in my right upper arm/shoulder area. This makes me cry in pain and frustration and there isn't a damn thing you can do.

Love Me

©

Published: December 2017

One thing I ask of you...

Love me for who I am
and be true.

Love me as a fish loves the sea,
how the bird loves to sing.

Love me as a bee loves its honey,
as an angel love his wings.

Love me and hold me tight
as you tell me everything is all right.

Love me and guard me with all your might
as you hold me near at night.

Love me as I lay a kiss upon your lips,
as the heart in my chest flips.

EXTREME CREATURES

Here we are at Tuesday and the second extreme creatures post today it's the Blue Whale.

This whale is big in fact it is the largest creature to live on Earth. It can weigh almost 200 tonnes, which is like four train carriages, its tongue alone is as heavy as an elephant.

It gives birth to a 3 tonne baby which can grow to 30 metres in length and can eat up to 3600 kilograms of food a day.

They have a lifespan of 80-90 years, there are believed to be 25,000 left in the wild.

FACTS FACTS FACTS

Good morning all, this Monday is the first day of the last week of term 3 of school. I have been up since 5am, had a good night. Wel here are some facts you may or may not know.

During the French “Reign of terror” from 1793 to 1794, 500,000 people were arrested and 17,000 of them had their head chopped off.

The British flag is not technical called the Union Jack but is actually “The Union Flag” is was called the Union Jack only when out at sea on navy ships.

In the 1790s it was common for people to want bells and other devices to be put on their graves in case they were buried alive.

Also in the 1790s loud horns and electric shocks were used to make sure the dead were actually dead. As at the time there were lots of horror stories about people being buried alive.

A common way for people to check if someone was dead was to put a mirror in front of the person's mouth.

MY BORING LIFE

Saturday again up at 5.11 again, by 6.30 I had managed to wash dress and make breakfast on my own.

At 7.30 Tim stumbles out mostly asleep still, I was surprised as he usually gets up around 9am, he was looking at the clock so I told him the time. He thought it was midday, realising it wasn't he went back to bed. It was 9.30 when he did get up for the day.

Been another warm day.

4-9-21

Father's Day today and I don't have anything for Tim who feels that since he bought himself a new phone a few weeks back that, that is his Father's Day present.

A much cooler day and a bit windy but not too bad.

Managed to print off some letters tomorrow I will place them in their already addressed envelopes.

I am slowly starting to feel more with it after 11am, from the time I get up to 11am I am ok functioning normal like, I have motivation and get things done. After 11 nothing.

5-9-21

Had a decent nights sleep woke at 3 and at 4 got up at 4.50am just having breakfast and starting my day.

Wrote a couple more letters and put the ones printed in envelopes now I just need stamps and someone to post them.

Been a cool day but no windy.

6-9-21

Slept well, got up at 3.30 to pee and then managed to dose on & off till 4.50am. Now ready for the day.

While going to the toilet I knocked over a candle and smashed part of the glass. I managed to clean it up on my own.

Tim left early for work as he needs to take the car to an auto electrician as the other night when he came home from work in rain the windscreen wipers would not turn off he called the NRMA and they did something to turn them off. I hope it is going to cost much to repair.

Wrote and printed 3 more letters.

Tasha has gone to clean Kelli's house, so Jess is going to put me to bed

7-9-21

A new day has arrived for me, I am up washed and dressed for the day.

Yesterday afternoon I put one of the staysharp into its sharping part upside down and it got stuck. Neither me nor Leo could budge it. However this morning Tasha bashed the end of it 3 times and pulled it out.

Leo is in a sad mood this afternoon but when asked if everything was ok he said he was just tired.

At one point school was on a break and he was flying his drone and it got stuck on their carport roof, thankfully Leo has no problem getting up there and retrieving it.

Saw Dave & Dawson when they came to borrow the trailer, it was good seeing them.

8-9-21

Had a good night sleep, now awake and dressed for the day.

No motivation today, checked emails, sorted laundry, read blogs, vacuumed out but didn't do much else.

A pretty warm day.

9-9-21

Up at 5.10 and after a shower I was dressed and ready for the day. Going to be another warm day.

Sent Kathy-Lee a birthday message she is 36 today.

I got Tasha to get me a prepaid parcel post bag so I can send Jeannie her birthday present.

Not warm but very warm day.

Leo has decided that he wants to earn some money by helping out friends and family by doing yard work and other little jobs around the house. He kicked this off by mowing our back yard after he cleaned it up.

Save A Life

©

Published: January 2016

You come to me crying, saying it's done,
That life is pointless, I shouldn't have one.

I tell you to stop, I beg and I plead.
You say the knife is your friend, it wants you to bleed.

But everyone here wants you to stay.
I'm crying, I'm shaking, please don't go away.

Life means so much; you just haven't found out.
So forget who planted that seed of doubt.

And as your knives and guns disappear,
Still know that I'll always be here.

I know what it's like, I've been through it all,
So hang on tight, I'm not gonna let you fall.

Reach for my hand, 'cause it's held out for you.
My shoulders are small, but you can cry on them too.

If you leave, you'll be missed by many,
Especially me, and I will not forget any

Of the moments we had, laughs we shared,
The times we needed each other when we were scared.

The world wouldn't be better if you left, but worse,
And so now it's time for me to reverse this curse.

I'll teach you how to save a life,
So unlike many, it won't have to end in strife.

EXTREME CREATURES-GREAT BARRIER REEF

Hello everyone, today is Tuesday and this Tuesday is the first of a new series called Australia's Extreme Creatures.

Life is tough in the animal kingdom and survival depends on being the best at evading predators and finding food.

These animals have developed some amazing abilities and characteristics in their quest to be the best.

Kicking off with the Great Barrier Reef which is off the east coast of this great country in the state of Queensland. It is the largest coral reef in the world at 2300 kilometres.

A coral reef is like an underwater city, built by tiny living animals called polyps. Many species of plant, fish and other organisms live together on a reef. Just like us humans live with other animals and plants.

FACTS BECAUSE IT'SS MONDAY

Hello world, hello Monday the start of another school week and life is good as can be expected. Well it is time for some facts.

The Sun's warming rays travel through 93 million miles of space to reach Earth. Moving at the speed of light, they make the trip in just eight minutes. A jet airliner would need more than 18 years to complete the same journey.

Jupiter's moon Io, has the most spectacular scenery in the solar system. Io's low gravity means that it's volcanoes can throw boiling rock 50 miles in the air.

The tallest sand dunes found anywhere in the world are inn the Sahara Desert. A single dune has enough sand in it to bury the Eiffel Tower.

There are a thousand times more living things in the sea than there are on land.

A typical lightning bolt is three inches wide and two miles long.

JO-ANNE'S BORING LIFE

Another rough night had to get up after a couple of hours for a couple of hours.

I then had to go to the loo before Leo put me back into bed, I then slept till 4am when I needed to get Tim to help me out of bed in order to pee. I managed to get back into bed but half an hour I needed his help to get up again, as I was shaking terribly from head to toe.

I was so bad I rang Tasha who came and helped.

Having a restless day asking for help a lot, frustrating Tim.

28-8-21

Had a better night, still woke at 4.30am but I had slept well.

Tasha came down and gave me a smoke which helped a lot.

Tim has done a few jobs around the house. Tasha helped him change the rollers on the front sliding door.

Tim has sent off some emails to some Occupational Therapists to try and find one for me.

Mostly a lazy day

29-8-21

Slept in till 5.45am which was a shock to me and Tasha.

There was an incident last night the woman/bitch in unit 14 started having a go at Tim when he was out the front having a smoke. She was yelling and swearing telling him to get inside, he gave her the finger.

She then had a go at Jess and called Leo a retard.

Tasha took me to have my knees Xrayed.

Had a phone call from an occupational therapist she said she will contact my GP and get back to me in a few days.

Been a better day

30-8-21

Up at 5.10am, washed, dressed and ready for the day.

Started a letter but didn't get very far with it as no concentration

A nice day spent doing nothing.

31-8-21

Had a good night, woke at 3am needing to pee but decided to try and hold on to 5am, however, after what felt like 5 minutes I decided I really needed to go. After I r returned to the bedroom I realised it was 4.30 so I decided to stay up.

Leo hasn't dawdle getting ready for school since the start of lockdown.

A warm day, I was able to wash and hang sheets on the line, well Tim did.

1-9-21

Had a good night, also had a nice hot shower this morning.

Last night I remember Tim telling me light in the kitchen had gone and he would replace the tube in the morning. However, this meant it was dark when Tasha got my breaky.

Been a warm day, Leo had the day off school as the online learning is getting to him.

2-9-21

I woke at 4am, thought I would give it an hour before getting up. However, my bladder thought different so at 4.15 I got up. I was washed and dressed for the day when Tasha arrived. I am in shorts as supposed to be warm again.

Been a good day managed to write 4 letters.

POEM DAY

Ode To Friendships

©

Published: May 2015

Friends...
They're the few people who accept silence over conversation.
A relationship like this denies silly promises and persuasion.
You don't feel the need to second guess thoughts or measure words.
Their love comes in wholes, not halves, not thirds.
They're the ones that guide you through when fate takes a turn.
Fights, small and large, end in forgiveness, never a burn.
You forget about first impressions and the feelings they brought.
You're grateful for who they are and you forgive 'em for what they're not.
