Heading Home or we are Home

Ok last day away today this may not get posted till after we get home depends on where we stop for lunch as I forgot to write it last night and thus couldn’t post it this morning while we had breakfast at Macca’s anyway yesterday after going to the zoo we headed home via Orange it was going to be Bathurst but by the time we got to Orange Tim was buggered and wanted to stop for the night.

Did nothing in Orange except spend the night then had breakfast at Macca’s and now on the way again.

Now to yesterday we went to the zoo and Dubbo’s Western Plains Zoo, Leo noticed that the animals were not in gages like they are in the movie Madagascar but in large fenced off areas. We were at the zoo for 5 ½ hours, at this zoo you can drive your car around the circuit so we drove the motor home around, when we stopped for lunch Tim cooked up some snags and onions and made himself a snag roll and Leo had the same me I just bought some hot chips from the kiosk and made myself a hot chip roll Jessica bought fish & chips and of course we had our own drinks which saved a bit of money since we each had a couple of cans.

Tomorrow I will post some photos of our little holiday, all in all we have had a good time away and Leo has enjoyed himself and Jessica says she has had a good time too.

We will do this again…………………..although our next holiday will be just me and Tim but more on that later……………………..

P.S.............We arrived home around 4pm yesterday but I was so buggered I didn't bother to open the computer let alone venture into blogland............

Traveling in the Motorhome

For the first time I am traveling in my parents motorhome, yes we left this morning and are on our way to Dubbo although Tim said our first stop will be Wellington we have been on the road for a couple of hours and we have just left Maitland and Maitland is only around 40ks from home so as I write this we still have around 320ks to go……….lol

We stopped at Maitland for lunch, we went to Woolworths and bought some bread rolls and cold meat and other salad type stuff and made sandwiches for lunch after stopping near a park. I swapped seats with Jessica and let her sit in the front while I sit in the back with Leo, so while I am sitting here at the table I decided to write this post ready for when we stop somewhere that may have Wi Fi and then I will post it.
Leo just asked me to move as he is very tired and wants to try and sleep well as well as he will be able to sleep sitting up at the table, I would love to be able to just tell him to lay down on the bed and have a sleep but that is illegal as it’s not considered safe which I know it just would be easier for him if he was laying down on the bed.

Oh well at least we have a bit more room than we would in the car, I did go and get him a pillow for his head and he is kind of dozing off.  Oh yeah Leo had to use the toilet in the motorhome 10 minutes after we left home, only because of the novelty of it and I had to tell him he couldn’t use it while the motorhome is moving.

Our first night was spent at Wellington Caves Caravan Park so we which right at the caves which we will be going to tomorrow.

Thank you...........or an Update

Hi all just wanted to say thanks for all the well wishes for my dad, he is home from hospital and doing much better now he came home yesterday afternoon. Today we went over to my parents place so dad could talk to Tim about motorhome, as we are taking it away for a few days yeah we are off for a bit of a break well as much of a break we can have with Jessica and Leo with us…………….lol

I have just had to go really cross at Leo as he emptied most of papa’s wine cask onto the floor I rang Tim and told him and he went off at me for not watching him but I was watching him I just can’t watch him every minute he is in there. Leo likes to watch telly in papa’s room but there are times when he gets into stuff and when he does I get into trouble for not watching him.

Tim just sent me a message reminding me to do the medications but I was planning to do them in the morning I hadn’t forgotten about them but would rather do them in the morning as I usually do them on Sunday.
I was thinking I would have a quiet night but hasn’t turned out that way I have been alone with Leo for a few hours while his mum went home to shower and pack some things to take with us.

Oh yeah today when we went to my parents place Leo was really excited about the motorhome and got even more excited when it told him we were going  for a drive in it tomorrow and that we may even sleep in it………………..he doesn’t know about the holiday yet…………….

My Dad's Health

Ok everyone I have wanted to write this post for that last few days but at first I had to wait as mum hadn’t told my sister Sue that dad was so sick and that he was in the Mater she knows now of course so here I am at last writing about it. Mum said she didn’t tell Sue straight away because Sue can over react and on Monday night she wasn’t up to dealing with her, she knew that Sue would want to go and stay with mum and mum didn’t want that even though I understood how mum felt I also thought it wasn’t right to not tell Sue straight away as I know how I would had felt if I was Sue…………….when mum did tell her she did over react and want to go and stay with mum and mum had to be firm and tell her no she didn’t need her there. She has Dawson and Dawson likes it being just him and his nanna and like being the one to look out for nanna but then Dawson is a nanna’s boy……………………lol

It started last week dad wasn’t feeling good and had a sore mouth and throat after a trip to the GP last Friday he was told he had thrush in the mouth and down is throat and oesophagus he was so sick and in so much pain he couldn’t eat or drink anything. He was prescribed Nystatin lozenges which he had to allow to dissolve in his mouth but dad instead was swallowing them whole as he said he didn’t like the taste. Anyway on Monday he was no better in fact he was worse so mum rang the doctors surgery and took him back to see his GP who was so worried he sent him over to A & E at the Mater, he picked the Mater as that is where all the cancer doctors are that dad sees.

Well they go over to A & E and after while mum had to leave as she had to be home when Dawson got home from school, dad said he would be fine but mum was worried anyway, now dad was left waiting to be seen till around 3.30pm he had been there for over 2 ½ hours and when he arrived there was only a couple of people in the waiting area all that arrived after him had been seen and in the end dad was the only person left in the waiting room, he got up and tried to walk to the triage nurse who saw him and told him to sit down and was shocked that he hadn’t been seen yet, she got someone to take him through to be treated.

It was decided to admit him as he was so sick and in so much pain, that was Monday on Tuesday he was worse…………….yes worse…………..he was so sick and in so much pain it really upset mum to see him like that. To make matters worse when the doctor went to insert a cannula in his hand she had trouble finding a vein and hurt him so much, mum said he was squeezing her hand so tight she thought he would break it. She (the dr) stuck the needle in and moved it around trying to find the vein mum said to her to try the other hand and use a smaller needle, she paid no notice to mum but a few seconds she says maybe I should try the other hand and a smaller needle…………………….which is what she did and then managed to get the cannula in.

Anyway I went with mum over to see him yesterday he looked ok not great but ok although he still felt like shit, he was having antibiotics via a drip and Nystatin drops in his mouth but was still unable to eat or drink anything, yesterday they also moved him to a different room out of a 4 bed room into a single room.

Today I had to go over to the Mater myself for an appointment with the bloody specialist so while I was there I popped up and saw dad again, he looked much better today and was out of bed and even drinking something the drip had been removed while he showered and they were discussing whether to put it in again or not, they said if dad could drink liquids they could possible leave it out. Also while I was there they moved him into a different room again as the room he was in was so bloody cold, dad said that last night he needed 3 blankets he was that cold.

When I arrived to see him this morning mum was there of course as well as my sister Jeannie’s on/off boyfriend Peter……………Peter works as a handyman at the Mater and popped in to see dad which I guess was nice of him.

Taken From Facebook...................Spoilt Generation

I saw this on Facebook and liked it so much that I had to share it...........why because it is so bloody true.......

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were. When they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning.... Uphill... Barefoot... BOTH ways...yadda, yadda, yadda

And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on my kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!

But now that I'm over the ripe old age of fifty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a damn Utopia! And I hate to say it, but you kids today, you don't know how good you've got it!

1) I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have the Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the damn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!!

2) There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter - with a pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox, and it would take like a week to get there! Stamps were 10 cents!

3) Child Protective Services didn't care if our parents beat us. As a matter of fact, the parents of all my friends also had permission to kick our ass! Nowhere was safe!

4) There were no MP3's or Napsters or iTunes! If you wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the record store and shoplift it yourself!

5) Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio, and the DJ would usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up! There were no CD players! We had tape decks in our car. We'd play our favorite tape and "eject" it when finished, and then the tape would come undone rendering it useless. Cause, hey, that's how we rolled, Baby! Dig?

6) We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called, they got a busy signal, that's it!

7) There weren't any freakin' cell phones either. If you left the house, you just didn't make a damn call or receive one. You actually had to be out of touch with your "friends". OH MY GOSH !!! Think of the horror... not being in touch with someone 24/7!!! And then there's TEXTING. Yeah, right. Please! You kids have no idea how annoying you are.

8) And we didn't have fancy Caller ID either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your parents, your boss, your bookie, your drug dealer, the collection agent... you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!

9) We didn't have any fancy PlayStation or Xbox video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like 'Space Invaders' and 'Asteroids'. Your screen guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination!!! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen.. Forever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE!

10) You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your ass and walk over to the TV to change the channel!!! NO REMOTES!!! Oh, no, what's the world coming to?!?!

11) There was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying? We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little rat-bastards!

12) And we didn't have microwaves. If we wanted to heat something up, we had to use the stove! Imagine that!

13) And our parents told us to stay outside and play... all day long. Oh, no, no electronics to soothe and comfort. And if you came back inside... you were doing chores!

And car seats - oh, please! Mom threw you in the back seat and you hung on. If you were lucky, you got the "safety arm" across the chest at the last moment if she had to stop suddenly, and if your head hit the dashboard, well that was your fault for calling "shot gun" in the first place!

See! That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled rotten! You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1970 or any time before!

My Busy Life..............or...............Me Just Rambling On

What a few days I have had been busy as running around doing this and that, I have been visiting and reading blogs but haven’t had the time to write a post of my own so here I am on a Saturday afternoon finally getting around to writing a post.

Last night for the first time a bloody long time little Leo decided to sleep in his own bed here, we have a bed in the spare room that the boys can sleep in when they stay over and for the first time in ages Leo decided to sleep in that bed. I was so glad he did so at midnight when I woke up to him crying, he had thrown up all over the bed, I had to get papa out of bed to take care of him while I striped the bed and throw the sheets in the washing machine and wash them. After I had remade the bed I went to try and get him to go back to bed but he didn’t want to, instead he wanted to just sleep where he was sitting on my arm chair so I left him there and a few hours later he came in and got into bed with me and papa.

This morning he was complaining his throat was sore and couldn’t eat his breakfast, so instead I gave him ice cream, around 10ish Kathy rang and asked if I could take out some cold tablets to her. She was at work till around 2pm and of course I did, me and Leo went and bought her some cold tablets and then took them out to her place after that I came home and rang Jes and found out she was still in bed so I drove Leo home.

Then when I got back here Blain was here he had come over to play with Leo but I had already taken Leo home anyway Blain stayed for a couple of hours and then went home with his mum. Tim has now left for work so I have the afternoon and night home alone.

Ok what else on yeah on Thursday I had a phone call from the breast clinic they want me to go back and see my GP and stop the Plavix for a week or so and then arrange to have a biopsy done, I am not looking forward to that.  I do not handle needles well, ok that isn’t completely right I am fine with most needles but a big ass needle like they are planning to use for the biopsy isn’t something I think I will handle very well. Mum told me when she had her biopsy she went into shock and they had to keep her in hospital overnight. Oh well I guess I will find out how I will go when the time comes to have it done. I am not worried about the results in any way as I am sure they will not find anything bad but I do know it is better to have these things checked.

When I see the GP on Monday I am going to ask for a referral to have my iron levels checked again as I am getting very tired during the day again, I am back to needing a nap during the afternoon if I do not want to be in bed at 7pm.

Last Thursday I went with Kathy-Lee while she went to the doctors she had to go for her 6 week check-up and Summer had to have her 6 week needles/vaccine, she got a needle in each leg and they were given at the same time the nurse did one and the doctor did the other.  In the 6 weeks since her birth she has grown 1cm and gained 1kilo in weight.

While I was there Jessica sent me a text message with pictures of Leo he had broken out in a terrible rash it was all over his torso and neck and face and was spreading, she had rang and made an appointment for him but rang me upset because the rash was spreading so I told her to bring him straight to the doctors which she did and she was but in to see the doctor not long after getting to the surgery. As it turned out it was an allergic reaction to something and by Friday he was much better but she didn’t send him to school anyway, bet the school were glad he wasn’t there.

Ok I think I have rambled one enough for this post, I will leave you all here………………

Week 37 of 2026

I woke up at 4.10am and Tim wasn’t home yet, but when I got up when the alarm went off at 5am he was home. I had to tell him a few times t...
